Pay Range: $56,638.40-$93,433.60 annually, depending on knowledge and experience.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in in Aviation management, Airport management, Business Administration, Public Administration, Finance or a closely related field and; Seven (7) years of pertinent experience, three (3) of which must have been a in supervisory capacity and two (2) of which must have been at a FAR 139 air carrier airport in a management/supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience as determined by the Human Resources Department.

Licenses or Certifications:
Valid driver’s license and any required licenses, training, or certifications required by law.
Pass and maintain a Department of Homeland Security/TSA background check, as well as a Criminal History Record Check to be eligible to obtain and keep an airport ID badge.

JOB SUMMARY
This is professional and supervisory work in the field of Airport maintenance. This position will oversee and coordinate construction, maintenance and repair work, as well as perform skilled work in an airport environment. Requires working with a variety of complex systems, and or heavy specialized equipment, as well as a variety of light construction, preventative maintenance, repair, and upkeep projects.  Also requires the ability to interact with airport tenants and the traveling public, and work under the security requirements mandated by the TSA and other government agencies.

An employee in this class is responsible for training, assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of skilled and unskilled subordinate employees. General direction is received from the Maintenance Manager, but the employee has considerable latitude in establishing work priorities, schedules, and related assignments. The employee will exercise independent judgment in carrying out assignments. The employee is subject to emergency calls as a routine part of regular duties. This position is also subject to regular on-call/re-call and must participate in the Airport’s re-call program. Work is evaluated through review of results attained.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Supervises subordinate maintenance division employees in all phases of building and airfield maintenance and repair necessary to safely operate and maintain airport facilities.
Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates the work of maintenance personnel to ensure efficient, effective, and compliant maintenance operations.
Ensures work orders are reviewed, assigned, and completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established quality, safety, and operational standards.
Provides leadership and oversees employee development and performance management, including training on equipment, operations, safety, and security, and ensuring all required certifications and clearances are maintained.
Assures employee performance and conduct meet or exceed job requirements and applies appropriate recognition or disciplinary action when corrective measures are necessary.
Makes adjustments to assignments, procedures, staffing, and schedules as needed to successfully accomplish maintenance objectives and respond to operational priorities.
Conducts periodic inspections of airport facilities and airfield infrastructure to assess conditions, determine maintenance needs, and identify corrective actions.
Coordinates maintenance activities with outside contractors and oversees contracted work related to scope, scheduling, logistics, manpower, quality, and cost control.
Works closely with airport leadership and subordinate supervisors in the development and preparation of maintenance budget estimates and operational plans.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
Office is located in a heated and cooled airport facility with minimal noise intrusion. Exposure to external environment at the airport is occasional. May require travel to various City departments for meetings with staff.

Minimum Qualifications

Employment Standards:

  • Possession or ability to obtain before appointment a valid California Driver License, Class C or higher
  • Obtain and maintain security clearance as required by the Airport Security Plan and TSA regulations.

Position Summary (Primary Function)

This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties and tasks related to community policing and maintaining a secure and orderly environment and protection of the Airport District. Distinguishing Characteristics:

Under minimal supervision and administrative direction is responsible to manage airport properties and leasing activities for properties owned and/or operated by the Tucson Airport Authority (TAA), including property at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN).

Essential Functions:

  • Lead, and coordinate with other TAA departments tenant inspections and lease compliance issues at TUS and RYN; follow up on lease compliance issues reported by TAA departments.
  • Remain abreast of business practices in the aviation and real estate industry by participating in conferences, meetings and other educational activities.

Position Requirements: 

A Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration or other related fields; two years commercial real estate experience. Airport experience is preferred. TAA will consider any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities sufficient to demonstrate aptitude for the position.

Licenses; Certificates; Special Requirements:

·         Valid Arizona driver’s license.

·         An Arizona Real Estate license is required within nine months of hire or promotion.

·         Meet and maintain the ability to drive airport vehicles and obtain authorization to access the Non-Movement Area on the Air Operations Area.

Senior Aviation Civil Engineer

Event Coordination & Planning

  • Lead planning and execution of inaugural airline events, route launches, and other high-visibility celebrations in partnership with internal teams and airline partners.
  • Oversee logistics, vendor coordination, event budgets, and post-event evaluation.

Passenger Experience & Enhancement Initiatives

  • Develop and deliver programs focused on improving the customer journey, from terminal activation initiatives to community-driven passenger support activities.
  • Collaborate with internal departments on customer service campaigns, amenities upgrades, and engagement opportunities.
  • Monitor passenger feedback and help translate insights into actionable improvements.

Internal Collaboration & Leadership

How to Qualify

1. Education:
An associate degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering, or a closely related field from an accredited college or university or its equivalent in terms of total course credits/units. [i.e., at least sixty (60) semester or ninety (90) quarter credits/units with a minimum of twenty (20) semester or thirty (30) quarter credits/units in one of the fields above or a closely related field].

2. Experience:
Five (5) years of experience analyzing, installing, configuring, enhancing, and/or maintaining the components of an enterprise network.

 

Substitution:

Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of two (2) years). One (1) year is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units/ forty-five (45) quarter units with a minimum of 10 semester / 15 quarter units in one of the fields above or a closely related field.

Completion of the 1010 Information Systems Trainee Program may be substituted for the required degree.

One-year full-time employment is equivalent to 2,000 hours (2,000 hours of qualifying work experience is based on a 40-hour work week). Any overtime hours that you work above 40 hours per week are not included in the calculation to determine full-time employment.

 

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Two (2) or more years of experience designing, implementing, supporting Microsoft Entra ID hybrid joined devices, including responding to cybersecurity incidents involving Microsoft Entra ID, Microsoft Intune and Windows Hello.
