Overview

CLASS SUMMARY:

Manages and supports day-to-day airport operations focusing on safety, security, compliance, airport emergencies and public safety operations. Responsible for managing, responding to and maintaining a safe and secure airport environment. Accountable for coordinating with agencies such as the TSA FAA, airlines, airport tenants and staff, and other regulatory and emergency organizations. Ensures the effective mobilization of protective, public safety and emergency services for the airport in all safety, severe weather, security related emergencies and incidents. ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

Mercer County Government is seeking an Airport Director to serve as the accountable executive for Trenton–Mercer Airport (TTN). Associate Asset Manager

About the Job:

The Finance & Airline Relations department is looking for an Associate Asset Manager with a keen eye for detail and a curiosity for how airport operations, real estate, and agreements intersect to support the business of aviation. This role helps administer the Airport Authority’s real estate agreements with airlines’ related tenants, ensuring those agreements accurately reflect how space is used across the airport and deliver the value they were designed to generate.

Working alongside Asset Managers, the Associate Asset Manager supports agreement administration, monitors lease compliance, coordinates tenant improvement projects, and maintains strong working relationships with tenants. The role collaborates closely with internal teams across the Authority to help ensure that operational needs, financial terms, and tenant agreements remain aligned.

The ideal candidate will bring strong relationship-building skills, attention to detail, and an interest in understanding how operational realities and financial terms connect. They are comfortable reviewing agreements, asking thoughtful questions, and working collaboratively to resolve issues and keep projects moving forward.

What You’ll Do:

  • Real Estate Agreement Administration: Support the administration of airport real estate agreements by researching terms, preparing documentation, and helping ensure agreements align with Authority policies and program requirements.
  • Tenant Account Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned airline and tenant accounts, ensuring compliance with agreement terms including financial obligations, reporting requirements, and operational standards.
  • Lease Compliance & Space Oversight: Monitor tenant spaces and conduct inspections to ensure leased areas are used in accordance with agreement terms and Authority policies.
  • Tenant Improvement Coordination: Review and coordinate routine tenant improvement projects to ensure alignment with lease provisions, operational needs, and airport standards.
  •  Negotiation & Transaction Support: Assist Asset Managers with real estate negotiations, transactions, and Requests for Proposals (RFPs); help prepare and administer routine airport-related agreements.
  • Tenant & Internal Coordination: Act as a liaison between tenants and internal stakeholders to support projects, resolve operational issues, and maintain alignment across departments.
  • Issue Resolution: Investigate and support resolution of tenant or public concerns related to leased spaces, agreements, or operational matters.
  • Operational & Asset Efficiency: Understands how tenant agreements, operational space usage, and billing systems intersect to identify opportunities to improve asset utilization, tenant services, and operational efficiency.

The Experience You Need to Have**:

  • Three years of progressively responsible professional business experience, at least two years of which involve commercial or industrial asset management, property management, and/ or real estate development, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
  • Graduation from an accredited four year college or university in business or public adminis­tration, finance, real estate, or a closely related field.

Preferred Education, Certification, and Licenses:

  • Advanced degree such as a Master’s degree in business, public administration, finance, real estate, or a Juris Doctor (JD).
  • Designation as a Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM), or Airport Certified Employee (ACE).

Intern, Emergency Management – Portland International Airport

The Port of Portland is hiring an Emergency Management Intern!

Join the Emergency Management team at Portland International Airport and gain hands-on experience supporting emergency planning, training, and exercises that help keep the airport and Port community ready for any situation.

Your role: You’ll support the Port’s Emergency Management team by assisting with the development and review of emergency plans, coordinating training and exercises, and helping strengthen preparedness across the organization. You’ll also collaborate with internal teams and regional partners to support coordinated emergency response efforts.

To be considered for this intern position you must be a current student enrolled in a metro-area school for the duration of employment. Spring 2026 graduates will not be eligible for this internship unless documentation of continued educational classes (graduate school documentation related to the field) can be provided at the time of application.

Duration: Expected sunset date on or around May 31, 2027, with full-time work during school breaks and part-time during the school year.

Compensation is determined by school year and experience.
Essential Job Duties
Draft, review, and update emergency response plans that support preparedness across the Port.
Assist with the design, coordination, and evaluation of emergency management exercises.
Support the delivery of emergency preparedness training for Port employees and stakeholders.
Assist with Incident Management training initiatives.
Participate in meetings with internal teams and regional emergency management partners to support coordinated preparedness and response efforts.

Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience

Currently enrolled in an accredited Oregon/Washington college or university and seeking a degree in a related field.
Student must also provide current unofficial transcript at time of application.
Maintenance of a minimum 2.5 grade point average and continued enrollment in classes pertinent to the internship is required.
Must successfully pass and maintain clearance of a comprehensive Criminal History Records Check and a Security Threat Assessment for a PDX Security Badge, are required.
Demonstrated Knowledge and SkillsDemonstrate commitment to valuing differences among individuals and a passion for being inclusive.
Focus on safety improvements, and comply with safety and health policies and procedures.

Basic understanding of emergency management principles.

SELECTION PROCESS (tentative schedule):

A minimum qualification evaluation of education, training, and experience of submitted application packets will take place by Human Resources the week of March 23, 2026.

A Subject Matter Expert (SME) Panel will perform an evaluation of experience and training taken from your employment application materials including any responses to the supplemental questionnaire.

Our goal is to schedule panel interviews with candidates that successfully passed the SME evaluation week of April 6, 2026. The successful candidate will be notified after interviews are complete, with a tentative start date in June 2026.
