The Airline Business Development team at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority is responsible for growth in annual enplaned passengers and air service capacity at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport (DCA).

The Airline Business Development team has created a new career ladder position to develop the next leaders in air service development. If the candidate can successfully demonstrate their knowledge and performance in set metrics, the Airline Business Development career ladder position offers the opportunity for defined promotions over 72 months. This career ladder position will prepare the candidate to the be the next Airline Business Development Director at the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.

As the Airline Business Development Data Analyst I, you will assist in building, maintaining, and generating internal air service databases, data reports, and airline service presentations.

This is a developmental level position and may lead to the next level of the Airline Business Development career ladder.
After 24 months of successful performance and the ability to:

• Independently collect, consolidate, and distribute air service data from various sources including Diio, Placer, DOT, and other sources in support of the ABD team’s strategic focus
• Maintain a variety of internal ABD databases ensuring accuracy and effectiveness of the data.
• Prepare, maintain, and update accurate statistical analysis for TPS reports.
• Monitor, analyze, and report on key performance indicators of the Airport relative to its regional and national peers.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of the global air service development industry and geopolitical challenges to air service growth and retention.
• Demonstrate working knowledge of MWAA’s airport system and strategic focus for the ABD team.
A one grade and 5% increase is intended and the employee moves to the Airline Business Development Data Analyst II (SABD40) job description.

After an additional 24 months of successful performance and the ability to:

• Successfully manage small portfolio of airlines
• Independently collect, consolidate, and generate multiple airline business development opportunities and the corroborating business case with a presentable deck.
• Evaluate IAD ASIP effectiveness in comparison to competitive set.
• Build leakage study for airline portfolio.
• Demonstrate ability to prepare for and lead multiple successful airline business development meetings at a route development conference.
• Demonstrate ability to develop professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders to advance ABD strategic objectives.
A one grade and 5% increase is intended and the full performance Airline Business Development Program Administrator (SABDPA4) is intended.

Serves in the Office of Airline Business Development (ABD) in the Office of Chief Revenue Officer at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD).

Builds, develops, and maintains a variety of internal databases (using current data subscriptions) that can easily be accessed by the ABD team to better understand the airline service market and craft their airline service pitches to airlines. Performs related functions.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Assists in providing strategic analytical support through the creation of forecasts, analyses, and other key information used by the ABD team to enhance airline service.

Supports the development and maintenance of a variety of internal databases including those for passenger bookings by zip code, U.S., and foreign carrier market detail performance, etc.

Ensures accuracy and effectiveness of data provided, and analytical support in interpreting data.

Prepares weekly/monthly/quarterly reports for Airports Authority executives, ABD team, and other internal and external stakeholders; Reports include, but are not limited to, weekly airline schedule change reports, monthly capacity reports, monthly hub performance tracking reports, and quarterly passenger reports.

Participates in representing the Airports Authority at local industry events and other functions.

Coordinates Airport Authority events and other ABD team activations as necessary.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

Three years of professional experience in commercial aviation in a relevant field including: air service development, airline operations, revenue management, aviation marketing, airport operations, business development and economic development. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Familiarity with using data sources, forecasting, and other analytical methods to perform market analyses and develop business cases.

Ability to write clear and concise reports and presentations that effectively communicate business and economic information to management.

Knowledge of market trends, economic conditions, and business economics to assist in forecasting and identifying business trends and opportunities.

Ability to perform detailed analyses of data and information and make recommendations.

Skill in using computer and office suite software, with a heavy emphasis on spreadsheet and presentation software (such as Excel and PowerPoint).

Ability to speak and write effectively

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of the commercial airline industry, airline hub locations, growth strategies, and market segmentation.

Experience developing airline business (international or domestic).

EDUCATION

A Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Economics, Aviation Management, Marketing, or related field.

A state driver’s license in good standing.

A valid passport prior to hire, promotion, or placement in the job.

What You’ll Do 

Denver International Airport (DEN) is hiring a Senior Project Manager of Airside Design and Construction to join the Airside Engineering team of DEN’s Design, Engineering and Construction (DEC) Division. DEC is the primary Capital Project delivery arm for design and construction projects at DEN. The Airside Engineering team is responsible for implementing runway, taxiway, gate apron, DIW, airfield electrical, and stormwater/drainage projects within the Air Operations Area (AOA) at DEN.

Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) is approaching these projects with a renewed focus on constructing and rehabilitating civil infrastructure to ensure operational continuity, reliability, optimization, and efficiency. We are looking for an interdisciplinary project manager who brings a depth and breadth of technical proficiency; critical problem solving, communication and facilitation; financial acumen; stewardship; and an ability to invest in the success of the DEN Design Engineering and Construction (DEC) projects throughout their project life cycles.

This position is responsible for the definition, delivery (design and construction), and closeout of projects in accordance with DEC Project Life Cycle process and procedures. This position will report to the Airside Engineering Supervisor.

Design Engineering and Construction Senior Project Manager competencies include:

  • Provides the knowledge, expertise, and overall support to the projects for future development, infrastructure, and overall design and construction needs at DEN.
  • Consult with stakeholders to determine, establish, and execute project work plans and goals.
  • Formulate and define scopes of work and objectives.
  • Executes the processes, practices, and applications of design and construction project management and the principles, standards, requirements, and guidelines for plans review.

  • Prepares pre-bid materials defining scope of work and related information necessary for request for qualifications (RFQ),request for proposals (RFP), and construction Issued for Bid (IFB) and responding to questions concerning the project and/or contract(s).
  • Prepares and communicates project status reports for key stakeholders and provides updates on project activities and information on risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Meets with contract and consultant personnel, internal and external project stakeholders, and other city staff to resolve problems and concerns and answer questions on non-controversial issues/projects.  Interacts with utility companies, city agencies/departments, and other governmental agencies to obtain necessary permits and clearances and to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Manages schedules, work plans, and cost estimates/projections and monitors projects for conformance to approved plans and contract specifications. Prepares and communicates project status reports for key stakeholders and provides updates on project activities and information on risks and mitigation strategies.
  • Monitors the budget for project planning, design, regulatory, and/or construction phases and ensures project deliverables stay on-time, on-target, and on-budget. Field inspections of projects for conformance to approved plans, and conflict resolution.

  • Education and Experience Equivalency: One (1) year of the appropriate type and level of experience may be substituted for each required year of posthigh school education. Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.

Network Systems Engineer

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Under minimal supervision, performs professional and advanced technical work designing, developing, implementing, maintaining and supporting Tucson Airport Authority’s (TAA) systems and network infrastructure. Ensures the operational availability, performance, reliability, and effectiveness of all TAA network and computing systems both on premise and cloud instances using VMWare.  Installs and configures new technology infrastructure and network equipment, including servers, routers, switches, firewalls, access points and other types of devices.  Maintains and ensures the integrity of the Information Technology (IT) infrastructure and fiber backbone.  Performs network and systems security checks and security system installations/updates.  Supports IT customers in the operation and use of TAA IT technology systems and network equipment. May support and maintain other specialized IT systems including but not limited to: Access Control Systems (ACS), Electronic Video Information Displays (EVIDS), paging systems, and Closed Circuit Television (CCTV).

Position Summary (Primary Function)

The Accountant – AP & Payroll position is responsible for the day-to-day accounts payable processing and the employee payroll function for the Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District (“District”). Provides accounting support and information for managers, staff, and employees in the areas of accounts payable, payroll, employee expenses and record keeping. Duties include processing accounts payable, invoices and payments, report generation and accounting for transactions, understanding workflow procedures, producing a wide variety of correspondence and documents and a variety of special projects assigned by the Director of Finance.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

  • The Accountant – AP & Payroll uses the Sage Intacct financial accounting system to access information and to ensure accuracy of invoices, payments, and coding of expenses for the District. Researches and resolves all accounts payable problems. Performs monthly and accounts payable portions of close including balance sheet reconciliation work, expense reporting, and cash payment analysis. Ensures the accuracy of District payrolls by auditing departmental pay authorizations and verifying deductions from wages. Manages the payment of wages and salaries via the payroll software and prepares periodic payroll reports for the Director of Finance and Department Directors.
  • Preparation and processing of accounts payable invoices and payments ensuring that payment is timely and accurate. Ensures that filing is up to date and that approvals are obtained for expenditures from appropriate parties.
  • Ensures accurate input, proper expense accounting, and prompt payment and filing of paperwork.
  • Working with vendors to resolve disputes and ensures that services are not interrupted.
  • Researches issues with expense variances as part of monthly close cycle.
  • Ensures that all monthly closing activities are accurately completed on time. Reviews aged A/P Trial balance to ensure that payments are made promptly.
  • Becomes the expert on how Sage Accounts Payable works and makes recommendations for improving efficiency and accuracy of information.

IT Project Manager

Distinguishing Characteristics:

Under minimal supervision and administrative direction, the IT Project Manager will oversee a portfolio of technology projects for Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) at Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN) which often involves collaboration with peers, other TAA departments, vendors, and contractors; responsible for all project-related administrative requirements including but not limited to, project schedules, resource planning, risk management/mitigation, and budget. Work includes preparing, reviewing designs, plans, specifications and contract documents, identifying contract disputes, and validating project completion with appropriate stakeholder approvals.

 

Essential Functions:

  •  Support and advocate for TAA’s Mission, Vision, Guiding Principles, and Strategic Plan and act as a champion and role-model of TAA’s Cultural Fundamentals.
  • Serve as the project manager for assigned IT projects, to ensure design goals, management reports, project schedules, budgets, plans and specifications, is conducted in a timely and cost-effective manner.

    Prepare reports and present recommendations to Executive Team (ET) at key decision points in project development as required.
  • Assist in the design and constructability review of design plans and specifications which are prepared by consultants under contract with TAA; coordinate support services and provide knowledge and authoritative guidance on design and construction criteria.
  • Lead and provide direction in project team meetings to keep the meetings on schedule with pertinent information discussed and decisions made as required.
  • Manage final inspections to develop appropriate punch lists, and the approval of all progress payments through the completion of projects.
  • Keep current, accurate records on each working project.
  • Respond to inquiries from TAA staff and tenants, and provide information pertaining to the status of projects.
  • As required, provide 24-hour response/resolution to project and airport related emergencies.
  • Assure compliance with rules and regulations governing the use of TAA property and facilities and the observance of air traffic and safety regulations during the course of assigned projects.
  • Collaborate with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT), City or County staff, as necessary, to ensure successful project implementation.
  • Abide by all FAA or ADOT grant regulatory requirements.
  • Work closely with TAA IT and Maintenance staff to effectively maintain and plan for replacement/upgrades to existing systems.
  • Be responsive to airport emergencies and situations that may involve loss of human life or property; support public safety and operational response to emergencies; utilize Incident Management System (ICS)/National Incident Management System (NIMS) protocols and procedures; coordinate and/or participate in after-action emergency de-briefing with appropriate departments and stakeholders.

Position Requirements:

Assistant Aviation Director

Under general direction, assist in directing, managing, supervising, and coordinating the Department’s Aviation programs and activities; coordinate assigned activities with City departments, divisions, outside agencies, tenants and the public; provide highly responsible and complex support to the Director of Aviation and Transit. Land Use Planning Manager

THE OPPORTUNITY
The successful candidate will work under the general direction of the Airport Planning Manager/Executive Officer of the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC). This position provides staff support on a variety of Planning-related assignments for the Airport Land Use Commission (ALUC) for Orange County and JWA Land Use Planning.

Responsibilities and duties to be performed include but are not limited to the following:

  • Review and analyze land use projects in areas surrounding Orange County airports (JWA, Fullerton Municipal, and Joint Forces Training Base, Los Alamitos) for compatibility with the airport plans
  • Under the direction of ALUC Executive Officer, write staff reports and present findings at monthly ALUC meetings
  • Assist with implementation and tracking of Mitigation Measures included in JWA Environmental Impact Reports (EIRs)
  • Assist ALUC Executive Officer in overseeing preparation and distribution of agenda, staff reports, and minutes
  • Coordinate with other JWA staff and consultants for California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review for airport projects

Airport Operations Supervisor

Supervise the Control Center and foster collaboration across departments during emergency response efforts, snow removal, and construction activities. Assist in writing annual performance evaluations for staff and work with team members to ensure individual development and success. Assume the duties of the Assistant Airport Operations Manager during their absence. Ensure compliance with FAA FAR Part 139, TSA Part 1542, and airport rules and regulations on a 24/7 basis, maintain continuity of operations particularly during emergencies or inclement weather. Collaborate with staff and management to oversee training and confirm all training requirements are met. Review and approve time-off requests to secure adequate staffing levels.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with and oversee Airport Operations Personnel – Oversee and supervise AOC I and AOC II staff, ensure adherence to departmental work rules and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Provide leadership during Irregular Operations and Alerts, including the timely and accurate issuance of ENS (Everbridge) messages.
  • Oversee Training and Evaluation of Personnel – Ensure training of Operations staff in accordance with adopted plans as required by FAR Part 139 and TSA 1542. Conduct employee evaluations with management’s input and oversight.
  • Prepare Shift Schedules – Facilitate the implementation of shift schedules. Coordinate staff’s time-off requests to ensure proper coverage of critical shift positions.
  • Implement Activation of EOC – Implement activation of the Emergency Operations Center during airport/aircraft emergencies.  Communicate issues that arise via phone and electronic means of communication to affected parties.
  • Supervise Airfield and Terminal Construction Projects – Ensure FAA regulations and TSA regulations are followed during construction activities.
  • Supervise Snow Removal Operations – Coordinate and lead snow removal efforts on the airfield while also serving as the ‘Snow Boss’ in the FAA Control Tower to ensure efficient operations and safety.
  • Prepare reports, develop and implement policies and procedures – Prepare and maintain departmental records and reports. Assist Assistant Operations Managers in the development of department Standard Operation Guides and Instructions.
  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of the duties of AOC I and AOC II personnel with the expectation of stepping into these roles as needed.
  • Investigate and supervise employee issues – Investigate employee issues and counsel or discipline as needed to gain compliance with work rules and/or civil service rules with management oversight.
