The Greenville-Spartanburg Airport District is seeking a collaborative and resourceful Chief of Police to develop and implement short-and long-term strategies to maintain safety and compliance. The Chief of Police manages all Police Department activities to ensure compliance with State, Federal, and Airport Regulations. Performs Department administrative functions. Leads and develops department officers. Reviews airport operations and safety procedures, inspects, reports, and monitors; makes overall recommendations regarding employee, tenant, and public security and safety throughout the Airport. Serves as the Airport Security Coordinator (ASC).

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Personnel Management

  • Applies a servant leadership approach, leading by example and holding people accountable. Develop employees for current and/or upcoming roles.

Functional Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under limited supervision, directs the activities of the Airport Police Department.
  • Acts as the Airport Security Coordinator.
  • Plan, organize, and direct law enforcement activities on airport property, implement airport security procedures and techniques, enforce airport and police department rules and regulations. Enforce Federal and State Laws.
  • Recruit and supervise police employees, allocating duties and assigning subordinates to specific duties, direct work schedules, monitor attendance records, recommend personnel actions and carry out other duties associated with law enforcement management.
  • Supervise and direct security inspections of the airport premises, making recommendations for corrective actions and keeping records of inspection reports.
  • Works closely with airport tenants regarding the security of their facilities.
  • Maintain and implement the Airport Security Plan in accordance with Part 1542 of the Federal Aviation Regulations.
  • Maintain a liaison with the Federal Security Director.
  • Implement all security directives in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate closely with the general public and other agencies regarding use of the airport and its facilities.
  • Submit an operating budget in a timely manner and requisition and maintain adequate department supplies.
  • Shall be available 24 hours a day in the event of an actual or potential emergency.
  • Implement airport police duties under the Airport Emergency Plan.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a related field.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in law enforcement with a minimum of five (5) years in supervisory/leadership position.
  • Policing experience in an airport environment is desired.

Certification Requirements (Must have or willing to obtain)

  • Must meet the minimum educational standards required by the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy.
  • Must be certified by the South Carolina Law Enforcement Training Council.
  • Successful completion of the South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy pre-testing, including psychological profile, police officer selection test, polygraph exam, physical, drug/alcohol screening, and the field training program.5

Other Requirements

  • Must be able to complete and pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination as per Federal, State, and GSP Airport District requirements.

The Administrative Services Officer I (ASO I) for the Access Control and Security Office is part of the Operations
Division within the Sacramento County Department of Airports (SCDA). This section is responsible for
administering the Airport’s access control and credentialing program, ensuring compliance with
Transportation Security Administration (TSA) regulations, and managing the systems and processes that
safeguard secure and restricted areas of the Airport.

The Access Control and Security Office oversees the issuance, renewal, suspension, and auditing of airport
identification media, as well as the management of electronic access systems. The office works closely with

Manager of Airport Properties

The Port of Oakland is seeking a Manager of Airport Properties for Oakland Airport (OAK). · Acts as Port and Airport representative to passenger and cargo airline fixed base operators, other airport users and tenants, federal, state, and local agencies, special interest groups, the media, and the general public relative to various phases of airport operations, to the development and use of the airport facilities, and to problems, complaints, and inquiries involving the airport and its operating practices and procedures.

· Provides interface with federal air traffic control facility managers to ensure airport operational coordination with air traffic control regulations and procedures.

· Determines the needs for and recommends new construction, alterations, and maintenance of airport facilities, equipment, and appurtenances; coordinates airport construction activities with flight and ground operations.

· Directs the inspection of airport facilities such as runways, ramps, taxiways, lighting, buildings, roads, water systems, gas lines, assigned vehicles, etc. for proper maintenance, compliance with established safety requirements, and needed repairs and improvements.

· Directs the opening and closure of the entire airport (or portions of it) to aircraft operations based upon airport conditions and related safety factors such as inclement weather, construction, or other unsafe conditions.

· Represents the Port and Airport at meetings and conferences of aviation committees and associations, chambers of commerce, commissions, boards, governmental agencies, and other civic and interested groups.

· Acts as Director of Aviation in his or her absence, as authorized, to ensure that necessary functions are performed.

· Prepares operational records and reports.

· Performs related duties as assigned.

 

Minimum Requirements

 

This examination is open to persons who have a combination of education and experience that would reflect possession of the required knowledge, skills, and abilities for the position.  A typical combination would include the following:

 

Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in airport management, business administration, public administration or related field.

 

Experience: Seven years of managerial or supervisory experience in airport management, airport operations or airport finance and administration.

 

Licenses: Must possess a valid California Class C driver license at the time and for the duration of appointment.

 

Additional Requirements: This classification requires each incumbent to successfully complete a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check, which will include a fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check (CHRC) and a Security Threat Assessment (STA), prior to being considered for this position.  In addition, the incumbent in this position will be required to complete and pass a U.S. Customs Airport Security Program Check (19CFR122.182). This status must be maintained for the duration of employment at the Airport.

 

Must be available for on-call duty as required by emergency situations, or as required for uninterrupted Port operations.

Some of what you’ll be doing:
As an Airport Duty Manager, you will be the primary point of contact for information and direction regarding safety, security, emergencies, compliance, construction, airline, passenger, tenants, and the surrounding public.

  • You will ensure safety, security, and continuity in the operations of the airport.
  • You will inspect the terminal areas for deficiencies, cleanliness, safe movement and monitor security checkpoints and international arrivals for passenger efficiency.

Who you are:

  • Experienced – You have three (3) years of experience in aviation/flight operations and/or safety management.
  • Licenses/Certifications – You can obtain a Washington State Concealed Pistol License within 60 days and complete the American Association of Airport Executive (AAAE) Certified Member (CM) program within two years of hire date.

  • Work Environment – You will generally work outdoors in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights and/or in confined spaces. Must be able to climb stairs and respond to most areas of the airport.
  • Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
  • Safety Requirements – You will be required to comply with all work rules, safety, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) requirements.

Director of Aviation – ACV

The County of Humboldt is seeking a Director of Aviation to oversee the strategic direction, operations and growth of the county’s Aviation Department. This role encompasses capital improvement projects, operational management and community engagement to enhance regional connectivity and economic vitality. With an operating budget of $17.9 million for FY 2024-25, including $10.8 million allocated for capital expenditures, the department operates as a self-sustaining enterprise fund.

The Director of Aviation plans, organizes and directs aviation programs, services and facilities across county-operated airports. Collaborating closely with the Board, County Administrative Officer, airline partners, general aviation tenants and community partners, the Director ensures the delivery of safe, efficient and innovative airport operations.

Key responsibilities include:

·        Lead capital improvement projects, including runway rehabilitation, lighting enhancements and parking infrastructure upgrades.

·        Manage parking systems, transient parking operations and electric vehicle charging initiatives.

·        Supervise a team of 18 employees and manage departmental goals, budgets and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

·       Equivalent to a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in aviation, public administration, management, facilities/construction management or a closely related field; and

·       Five years of increasingly responsible supervisory or administrative experience in aviation and airfield management which has included program planning, development and administration and working with community organizations.

·       Accreditation as an Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) through the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) is highly desirable.

AIRPORT ENERGY MANAGER (OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE MANAGER, SENIOR)

THE OPPORTUNITY
The Airport Energy Manager is a key member of the John Wayne Airport’s Maintenance team. They will be responsible for the development, strategy and direction of Airport wide energy management program, strategies, utility management, and development of energy saving projects related to electrical & thermal generation as well as utility purchases. The manager will also provide leadership for the successful and continuous 24/7/365 operation of the Central Utility Plant (CUP) serving John Wayne Airport. The plant provides essential electrical and thermal utility services. This position will be the key driver to ensure the airport meets its current and future energy needs, and manages airport energy capacity.

The incumbent is responsible for working within John Wayne Airport to manage utility billing to customers, regulatory reporting/compliance, budget, and long-term strategic energy planning. They will manage electrical energy resources and maintenance to ensure reliability and sustainability The incumbent will be required to interact and oversee contracts with the plant operator and Southern California Edison to ensure compliance and cost effectiveness. This position will serve as an in-house engineering technical expert to assess future needs for electrical generation, transmission, and distribution capacity, or chilling capacity. Ensure integration and optimal utilization of various power resources, increase efficiency and ensure operational resilience. Collaborate on projects  involving electrical generation/distribution infrastructure maintenance and upgrades. Respond to any incidents involving unplanned disruption to the generation or distribution of power.

ABOUT OUR PLANTS

The Central Utility Plant (CUP) is located at John Wayne Airport. The CUP has four natural gas-fired internal combustion engines driving a total of 7 MW of electricity and two 550-ton absorption chillers, one 125-ton air-cooled centrifugal chiller, three 750-ton centrifugal chillers and support equipment including a cooling tower. The CUP provides power on a microgrid. Redundant power capability is maintained through access to the Southern California Edison electrical grid

DESIRABLE AND CORE COMPETENCIES
The ideal candidate possesses at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the operation, supervision, management and administration of power plants, cogeneration facilities and/or other power generating and distributing operations within a critical facility. Further, the ideal candidate will possess experience in utility management, design and commissioning, energy management programs and leading energy saving projects. An ideal candidate will also be licensed as a Professional Engineer (PE) from the State of California.

A degree in utility management, electrical, chemical, mechanical, civil  engineering or a related technical degree is highly desirable.

Additionally, a highly desirable candidate will possess the following certificate, however not required: Certified Energy Manager (CEM)

Technical Expertise

  • Development and implementation of energy management strategies, power distribution, countywide utility management, and development and implementation of energy saving projects related to electrical & thermal generation as well as utility purchases

AIRPORT ACCESS REQUIREMENTS

Position Summary

Participate in the construction, maintenance, repair and remodeling of facilities/structures and parks; perform a variety of construction tasks involved in the renovation of wooden, concrete, brick or metal City buildings including rough and finish carpentry, masonry, block laying, painting, plumbing, basic electrical, minor welding, plastering, roofing, tiling, fence installation and sheetrock work and perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

Senior Line Service Representative

ABOUT THE POSITION
The Clark County Department of Aviation is seeking qualified candidates for the Senior Line Service Representative position at its general aviation airports. This is a working lead role, where the Senior Line Service Representative provides direct service while overseeing a team of line service staff. Responsibilities include fueling, safety checks, aircraft servicing, and other ground support activities. The position also involves managing fuel and supply inventories, coordinating services with vendors, and ensuring the security of the Aircraft Operations Area (AOA). In addition to hands-on duties, the Senior Line Service Representative assists with staff training, provides input for staff performance evaluations, and contributes to the development of goals, policies, and budget recommendations. This role includes overseeing emergency responses and communicates with the FAA and other agencies as needed at the County’s General Aviation airports, Henderson Executive Airport and/or North Las Vegas Airport.
