Airports Council Congratulates Buttigieg on Department of Transportation Nomination

WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today congratulated Pete Buttigieg on his selection as President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation.

“I congratulate Mayor Buttigieg on his nomination to this important position within the Biden administration. The pandemic has created one of the largest hits to the aviation economy that we have ever seen and caused delays to significant infrastructure projects at U.S. airports around the country. Airports are an essential part of America’s critical aviation infrastructure and provide jobs for 2.7 million people. The Department of Transportation secretary will be taking the helm at a critical time where our airports need support now more than ever. Our industry looks forward to working hand-in-hand with Buttigieg and the new Congress as we focus on economic recovery.”
