Inaugural CHRO Forum Brings Airport HR Leaders Together in Minneapolis

ACI-NA’s first-ever Chief Human Resources Officer Forum convened September 29–30 in Minneapolis-St. Paul, bringing together more than 50 HR leaders from 40 airports across the United States and Canada for two days of candid conversation about the people side of airport operations.

The group reflected the full breadth of ACI-NA’s membership, from large and medium hubs such as Charlotte, Phoenix, Seattle-Tacoma, and Calgary, to small and regional airports including Savannah, Missoula, Gander, and Victoria. That mix made for practical, peer-to-peer exchanges on challenges every airport shares, regardless of size.

Sessions, shaped with input from ACI-NA’s HR Steering Group and led by member facilitators, covered workforce reskilling, talent attraction and retention, AI, and leadership development, to name a few.

Attendees also connected informally at a networking reception at The Fair on 4 at Mall of America, an evening that curated conversation and connection.

Special thanks to the Metropolitan Airports Commission for hosting, and to our facilitators and Steering Group members for helping build a program by and for airport HR professionals.

“The ACI-NA CHRO Forum was a valuable opportunity to connect with other HR leaders in the airport industry and learn from their experiences and perspectives. I especially appreciated the candid conversations about the challenges we share, as well as the different ways airports are thinking about their people and workplace culture. I came away with new ideas, stronger connections with colleagues, and fresh perspective on how we can continue to support our employees and make our organization an even better place to work.” Cammi Wing, Chief People Officer, Columbus Regional Airport Authority

Building on this momentum, ACI-NA plans to make the CHRO Forum an annual event.

To get involved, Veronica Wynn and/or Zarina Manapova.
