ACI-NA Congratulates Chairman DeFazio on Election to Lead House T&I Committee

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

JANUARY 4, 2019

Washington – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) today congratulated Representative Peter DeFazio (D-OR) on his election as chairman of the important House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee in the 116th Congress.

“I congratulate Chairman DeFazio on his election as chair of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee,” said ACI-NA President and CEO Kevin M. Burke. “America’s airports are major drivers of our national economy, sustaining more than 11.5 million jobs in local communities across the United States.  During his time on the committee, the Chairman has been a strong advocate for airport infrastructure investment.  As a key original architect of the locally set Passenger Facility Charge (PFC) user fee, Chairman DeFazio also has a deep understanding of how modernized airport infrastructure provides travelers with more choices, lower airfares, and a better airport experience.  We look forward to continuing that work with Chairman DeFazio and Ranking Member Graves to modernize America’s airport infrastructure in the 116th Congress.”
