The Gerald R. Ford International Airport Authority is seeking a Director of Information Technology & Telecommunications to provides strategic leadership for all airport-wide IT and voice/data communication systems. Reporting to the COO/Future CAO, this role oversees planning, implementation, and maintenance of technology solutions that support operational excellence, safety, and customer service. The Director will shape long-term IT strategies, ensure the reliability and security of infrastructure, and foster an environment that supports innovation.

This position leads a skilled team of IT professionals, contractors, and consultants in delivering technology services and safeguarding the airport’s information systems. Responsibilities include aligning technology initiatives with the airport’s mission, managing complex projects, and ensuring business continuity. The Director will maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and industry partners.

Position Preferences

·       Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field; Master’s degree or MBA preferred.

·       Ten (10) years of IT management experience, including five (5) years in a senior leadership role with budget and operational oversight.

·       Expertise in IT infrastructure, cybersecurity, telecommunications, and project management.

·       Experience in a commercial airport environment is highly desirable, knowledge of FAA regulations a plus.

·       Proven ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders, including government agencies, contractors, and the public.

·       Availability for 24/7 on-call response to operational needs or emergencies.

Salary & Compensation

The starting annual salary range for this position is $146,490 – $175,788. Final compensation will be determined based on knowledge, experience and education. Relocation assistance is available.
