The City of Loveland, Colorado is seeking an Airport Director for Northern Colorado Regional Airport (FNL). This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of air travel in Northern Colorado while contributing to the region’s economic vitality.

Key Responsibilities:

·       Lead Strategic Initiatives: Work closely with the Airport Commission to develop and implement a strategic plan that promotes growth and enhances the airport’s value to the region.

·       Financial Stewardship: Develop and monitor annual operating and capital improvement budgets, ensuring fiscal responsibility and efficient use of resources.

·       Operational Excellence: Oversee airport operations, including security, emergency readiness, and maintenance of facilities and ground equipment, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

·       Team Leadership: Supervise airport staff, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment. Coordinate with local authorities, including the Loveland Rural Fire Authority, to ensure robust operational support.

·       Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the primary liaison with County, State, and Federal agencies, as well as local businesses and stakeholders within the community. Present to City Councils to secure funding and guidance on key policy issues.

·       Regulatory Compliance: Formulate and enforce airport rules and regulations, ensuring adherence to policies set by the Cities of Fort Collins and Loveland, TSA, and FAA.

·       Innovative Development: Pursue grants and other funding opportunities to support capital improvement projects, driving the airport’s growth and modernization.

Preferred Education and Experience

·       Bachelor’s Degree in Aviation Management, Business or related field.

·       Graduate Degree preferred.

·       Five (5) years’ experience in airport management, airport facility operations or other related airport/ aviation management experience.

·       Expertise in maximizing the business potential and revenue stream from airport operations is preferred.

·       An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for education requirements on a year-for-year basis.

·       Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) preferred.

Salary & Benefits

The salary range for this position is $135,900 – $197,000. A starting salary stronger than the mid-range may be possible for an exceptional candidate and with approvals.
