Key Areas of Responsibility & Impact Include:
Learning Strategy & Stakeholder Engagement
- Develops and maintains strong stakeholder relationships and performance agreements aligned with organizational goals, culture, and ethical standards.
- Partners with leaders and stakeholders across all levels to align training programs with business priorities and strategic outcomes.
- Consults with airport-wide divisions and work sections to understand needs and propose tailored learning solutions, including leadership development and workforce upskilling.
Needs Assessment & Instructional Design
- Conducts comprehensive learning needs assessments using interviews, surveys, reports, and stakeholder consultations.
- Designs and adapts instructional content and learning materials informed by data, performance gaps, and target population needs.
- Selects and applies appropriate assessment tools to measure baseline competencies and evaluate learning impact.
Program Development & Delivery
- Designs, develops, and facilitates engaging learning programs, workshops, and conferences for diverse employee groups.
- Coordinates end-to-end training logistics, including scheduling, facility arrangements, LMS requirements, and other support.
Facilitation & Coaching
- Facilitates interactive sessions that promote inclusive, team-oriented environments by managing group dynamics, clarifying comments, handling objections, and encouraging respectful dialogue.
- Demonstrates strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to coach, influence, and build trust across diverse teams.
- Provides instructional guidance to align delivery with learning goals and adult learning principles.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Collects and analyzes quantitative and qualitative data to evaluate training effectiveness, identify improvement opportunities, and inform decision-making.
- Prepares detailed evaluation reports and recommendations to improve program quality and learner outcomes.
Change Management & Cultural Competence
- Brings high emotional intelligence, cultural humility, and cross-cultural competency to support inclusive learning environments.
- Supports change management through tailored training and coaching that reinforce business alignment and performance expectations.
- Performs other functions outlined in the 1232 Classification.
How to qualify
Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university; AND
Experience: Two (2) years of verifiable experience designing, organizing, and conducting employee training programs.
SUBSTITUTION:
1. Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Thirty (30) semester units/forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year of experience.
2. Possession of a Master of Arts degree may be substituted for one year of the required experience.
3. Verifiable experience in teaching adults and developing lesson plans may be substituted for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience developing learning solutions and materials in various modalities, such as classroom or web-based, to address developmental goals at both the organization and individual levels.
- Experience developing and delivering Leadership training appropriate for a broad range of audiences from new managers to executive leaders.
- Desire and commitment to lead and participate in anti-racism, racial justice, and equity work, along with the dedication and fortitude to push and drive change in these areas.
- Experience building relationships, partnering, and consulting with senior management and executive roles for internal and external partners.
- Experience with effectively communicating across a broad range of contexts and to diverse audiences.
Strong attention to detail and sense of urgency to drive projects to completion with a commitment to consistently deliver excellent quality work. - Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Certifications in DiSC, Crucial Conversations, coaching, or related professional training programs.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
