Salary offers will be made within the posted range. Placement within the range will be determined based on your similar work experience. The Port considers work experience to be similar if the scope and level of responsibility of your prior positions match the job being offered.
Some of what you’ll be doing:
As an Operational Readiness, Activation & Transition (ORAT) Specialist, you will be responsible for software system administration, communications, and support the Construction and Operational Readiness (COR) managers with activation, logistics and process improvement.
- You will serve as the software system administrator and act as the primary point of contact between system users, external stakeholders, and the Citiri development to ensure the software is optimized to meet ORAT needs.
- You will manage the rollout of system changes and identify new data sources and analytics opportunities that support objectives.
- You will develop, author, and publish clear, timely, and engaging communications to both internal and external stakeholders in support of ORAT construction and operational readiness activities.
- You will support the COR managers with the development and planning of activation activities in the software and for opening new facilities such as guiding familiarization and site tours, coordinating the logistics, assisting with operational trials, tracking risks and issues, and more.
- You will assist the senior manager in creating and managing the department budget to include purchasing, monitoring, and reconciling expenditures, prepare, process, and track promotional hosting or trade, business and commercial development requests, and adhere to the Port’s Central Procurement Office (CPO) policies and procedures.
- You will assist with the development and procurement of promotional items and gifts for public simulations and events.
- You will manage logistics for workshops, special events, and grand openings by collaborating with internal departments and external stakeholders.
- You will lead process improvement efforts to identify, plan, and implement initiatives that enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the ORAT team.
Who you are:
- Experienced – You have two (2) years of administrative and/or system administration experience, and two (2) years of experience with airport/airline operations.

- Technically Savvy – You have proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, and Salesforce or other project management or scheduling software.

You engage others in active, open, and product dialogue and can communicate and partner effectively to help others understand complex drawings, diagrams, and visions for future facilities and processes.
What else you need to know:
- Driver’s License – You will need a valid Washington State Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain one, is required in order to travel locally to project sites.
- Work Schedule – Your normal work schedule will be Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (40 hours per week). You may be required to work any and all assigned shifts, including weekends and holidays. You may be required to work during emergencies.
- Work Environment – You will primarily work in an office environment, and will occasionally work outdoors occasionally in all types of weather conditions. You may be exposed to areas of high noise, various hazardous materials, work at heights and/or in confined spaces.
- Work Environment – This work will take place in a hybrid/in-office setting at Management’s discretion.
- Washington State Residency Requirement – Employees must establish a residence in Washington state within 30 days of their first day of employment and must maintain a residence in Washington State during their employment with the Port of Seattle. If a position is eligible to telework, work performed while teleworking must be performed in Washington State.
- Overtime Eligible – You are eligible for overtime pay in this role.
- Security Requirements – As the successful candidate, you must pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) background check as well as a criminal history background check with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). Your employment will be contingent upon obtaining a Port of Seattle ID badge upon clearance.
