Position:                    SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR III

Salary:                        $71,491 Annually

Department:              Airports/Airports Planning and Community Affairs

Location:                    Palm Beach International (PBI) Airport, WPB

Hours:                        8:30 A.M. to 5:30 P.M., Monday – Friday, 5 days/week; may be required to work overtime and on-  call.

Other:                         Must be able to lift 40 pounds.

Requires successful completion of TSA Criminal History Records Check & Security Threat Assessment prior to appointment and the ability to maintain these clearances as a condition of employment.

Professional, technical work involving a diverse number of business and operational systems.  Performs needs assessments, system design and development, system administration, programming, integration, project management, and documentation. Work involves program lead and sponsor for applications integration initiatives.   Duties also support the implementation of automated solutions, installations, maintenance, and configuration of network hardware and software, development of business applications, and database design and maintenance. Analyses user needs and formulates technical specifications; designs departmental databases to support integrated business functions; provides data maintenance, quality focus, database management/performance tuning/security, and operating systems support.  Makes formal presentations to communicate system design to end users and management.  Promotes process improvement/problem-solving practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or closely related field; minimum of two (2) years of experience in the support of Local Area Network (LAN)/Server or minicomputer-based systems.  Equivalencies:  Related Associate’s Degree OR equivalent academic training from a technical institute/formal military education program (minimum of 900 hours) OR an unrelated Bachelor’s Degree AND four (4) years of related experience OR graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification AND six (6) years of related experience.

PREFERENCE FOR:  Knowledge of client/server systems, virtualization, Storage Area Network (SAN); experience supervising/directing the work of others, such as managing one or more technical personnel in the deployment and support of Information Technology (IT) systems; technical/project management/cybersecurity certifications; experience managing technical projects involving different teams (management, end users, consultants); airport specific and cybersecurity experience.
