Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree. Four years of administrative or program management experience in airfield marking, land surveying, civil engineering, or related fields, including experience in airfield layout and safety compliance, are required. Must possess a valid driver’s license. Additional administrative or program management experience in airfield marking, land surveying, civil engineering, or related fields, including experience in airfield layout and safety compliance, may substitute for the required college education on a year-for-year basis.
Recruitment Notes
This is a responsible professional position with daily functions of surveying, analyzing, planning, and implementing pavement markings on airport airfields, roads, and parking lots. Airfield pavement markings frequently must be realigned to accommodate new aircraft fleets, gate assignment relocation, and technological advances in the location of fixed support equipment, which may warrant a realignment of aircraft loading bridges and aircraft parking position orientations. The pavement markings must adhere to strict FAA regulations and standards to ensure the safety of aircraft and vehicle operations on the airfield.
Airport Security
Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening, including but not limited to fingerprint checks, employment verification and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by federal law is a continuing condition of employment.
