Minimum Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree.  A minimum of six years of progressively responsible managerial experience in planning, organizing and directing complex and diversified real estate business and commercial development activities at a large-scale facility or airport is required.   Applicants qualifying for employment with the Miami-Dade Aviation Department will be subject to extensive security screening to include, but not limited to, fingerprint checks, employment verification, and other such procedures as may be mandated by federal law. The security clearance required by the federal law is a continuing condition of employment.

 

Recruitment Notes

This position is highly responsible executive level work that directs the planning and direction of the complex and diversified real estate business and commercial development activities of MDAD by delivering excellent service to existing tenants, providing visionary leadership in the development and execution of MDAD real estate operations. This position is responsible for directing extensive and complex real estate commercial operations and business management including the development and management of several county owned properties, preparation of several county Requests for Proposals (RFP’s) and negotiation of multimillion-dollar agreements and contracts for the department.

As the Assistant Aviation Director of Real Estate Management and Development, this position is responsible for developing and leading the real estate strategy, managing the broker network, overseeing the real estate expansion and construction process, and creating and implementing marketing strategies to support the real estate operations for Miami International Airport (MIA) and General Aviation Airports (GAAs). The Assistant Director will have oversight of approximately six million dollars operating budget and manages a divisional staff of approximately thirty five employees. General direction is received from the Deputy Director of Administration and Business Development and Retention who holds the incumbent responsible for effective oversight in the professional management of directing the Real Estate commercial operations at MIA and GAA’s.
