We’re currently searching for an experienced Finance Manager to be responsible lead our Airport Finance team and support the financial sustainability and strategic direction of YLW.

This role is responsible for overseeing the Airport’s financial operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting, the annual budget and ten-year financial model, variance analysis, accounts payable and receivable, and audit processes. The Manager, Finance also plays a key role in financial planning and decision-making by developing business cases, supporting debt strategy, and providing expert financial advice to leadership and stakeholders.

Reporting to the Director, Finance and Corporate Services, the Manager works closely with the senior leadership team, City departments, and industry partners, while providing leadership, coaching, and mentorship to the Finance team.

In this role, you will provide strategic financial advice and recommendations to support long-term sustainability, oversee financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audit processes, lead the development of the Airport’s annual budget and ten-year financial model, support capital planning and funding strategies, including Airport Improvement Fees, ensure compliance with Public Sector Accounting Standards and regulatory requirements, and build strong relationships with internal and external partners, including City departments and industry groups

You bring:

·         A university degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Commerce, or a related field

·         A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation in good standing

·         A minimum of eight (8) years of progressive financial management experience within a complex organization

·         At least five (5) years of leadership experience, ideally in a unionized or regulated environment

·         Strong knowledge of public sector accounting, financial reporting, and long-term financial planning

·         Advanced analytical and financial modelling skills, with the ability to provide strategic insights

·         Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence decision-making

This exempt position offers a competitive salary of $127,000 to $147,000 annually (currently under review), employer-paid comprehensive benefits, an earned day off program, paid vacation, and participation in one of Canada’s top pension plans.
