The City and County of Denver has announced furlough days, or unpaid days off, for most employees to meet a budget shortfall in 2025. There are two fixed furlough days for all limited (temporary positions with an end date) and unlimited (permanent) employees on August 29th, the Friday before Labor Day, and November 28th, the day after Thanksgiving. If you receive an offer for this position, your annual pay will determine whether you are required to take additional furlough days. Location and Schedule
- In this position you can expect to work on site at our Airport Commercial Holding Lot (7800 Shady Grove), free employee parking provided
- On-site Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Denver International Airport is a 24/7/365 team operation. If weather conditions warrant or an emergency crisis occurs, all DEN employees can be required to work extended hours and/or shifts
What You’ll Do
DEN’s Parking and Transportation team oversees Public Parking, Employee Parking, Commercial Transportation, Transportation Systems, Parking and Transportation Contract Compliance and the airports Lost and Found program. The team engages directly with the traveling public, airport stakeholders, tenants, employees, contractors, and transportation operators.
Denver International Airport is currently looking for a Commercial Transportation Operations Assistant to join our Parking and Commercial Transportation Department. In this role you will perform clerical duties requiring technical and customer service skills. This role will maintain commercial vehicle files, operating permits, and insurance, register commercial vehicles, correspond with customers, and perform research utilizing the commercial vehicle management system and other systems. You will assist staff and customers daily. This is a great opportunity for a detail-oriented individual looking to learn more about the inner working of our Parking and Commercial Transportation AVI office.
As a Commercial Transportation Operations Assistant, you can expect to:
- Interpret, apply, and explain regulations, policies, standards, and/or procedures to internal/external customers based on extensive knowledge of Commercial Transportation.
- Review and evaluate forms, applications, computations, documents, to determine accuracy, completeness, acceptability, or compliance based on airport or permit requirements.
- Provide specialized information, identify problems with commercial transportation operators and follow up on requests or complaints from customers or operators.
- Respond to sensitive inquiries and problems related to the specialized/technical area and resolve problems by making reliable decisions.
- Assist with writing policies & procedures, as well as documenting processes
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications

- Education: Three (3) years of full performance office support/clerical work (type and level of an Administrative Support Assistant III
- Education and Experience: Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirements.
- Licensure and Certification: Requires a valid Driver’s License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.
