Biography

Leila Lahbabi joined ACI-NA as Deputy General Counsel in January 2023.  A seasoned airport attorney, she has years of experience working with airports and their partners.

Prior to joining ACI-NA, Lahbabi served as lead counsel for Charlotte Douglas International Airport (CLT) in Charlotte, North Carolina.  At CLT, she led the Legal and Regulatory team comprised of attorneys and the airport’s Office of Civil Rights.  For 18 years, she provided advice and counsel on matters including airline affairs, concession agreements, business diversity and other civil rights programs, public art, ground transportation, leases, non-aeronautical land development, federal grant assurances, and federal regulations. Lahbabi also served on the Steering Group for ACI-NA’s Legal Committee and was Vice-Chair immediately prior to joining ACI-NA as a member of staff.

Prior to her work at CLT, Lahbabi was a prosecutor for the Mecklenburg County District Attorney’s Offices specializing in violent crimes.  She earned her J.D. and a B.A with honors in History from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
