Biography
Greg Cota joined ACI-NA in November 2013 and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Government and Political Affairs. He monitors congressional activity and works primarily with Senate staff regarding legislation affecting member airports and the aviation industry, including security and facilitation.
Prior to ACI-NA, Cota served as the senior transportation policy advisor to Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), whose office he joined in 1998. He was involved in the formulation and implementation of several important aviation, surface transportation and homeland security authorization laws, including the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act of 2012, and the Homeland Security Act of 2002. He also oversaw Sen. Leahy’s annual appropriations priorities in these areas.
Cota is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a degree in government, and he also holds a master’s degree in transportation policy from George Mason University.
