Biography
Greg Cota joined ACI-NA in 2013, and currently serves as Senior Vice President of Government and Political Affairs. He is one of ACI-NA’s lead lobbyists on Capitol Hill, focusing on FAA, TSA, and CBP laws and regulations affecting the aviation industry.
Prior to ACI-NA, Cota served as the senior transportation policy advisor to Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), whose office he joined in 1998. He was involved in the formulation and implementation of several important aviation, surface transportation, and homeland security authorization laws, including the FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012, the Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century Act of 2012, the Homeland Security Act of 2002, and the Aviation and Transportation Security Act of 2001. He also oversaw Sen. Leahy’s annual appropriations priorities in transportation, homeland security, labor, and economic development.
Cota is a graduate of the College of William and Mary, with a degree in government, and he holds a master’s degree in transportation policy from George Mason University.
