WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today issued a statement following the release of ACI World’s preliminary 2016 world airport traffic rankings highlighting the top 20 airports from around the world.
“Following the tremendous growth in passenger and cargo traffic experienced around the world last year, we are delighted North American airports maintained their leadership position in the global aviation system. At the same time, it is essential that U.S. airports have the ability to continue to grow and remain competitive for the future. Today, America’s airports face nearly $100 billion in infrastructure challenges and significant regulatory burdens that stifle competition and limit growth. ACI-NA will continue to work with Congress and the Trump Administration to ensure our airports do not fall behind.”
