Airports Council Releases Statement on Sean Duffy’s Confirmation to Lead the Department of Transportation

WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North American (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today issued the below statement congratulating former Representative Sean Duffy on his confirmation to serve as Secretary of Transportation:

“I extend my congratulations to Sean Duffy on his confirmation to serve as Secretary of Transportation in the new administration. His commitment to improving American transportation infrastructure and reducing regulatory barriers is critical as air travel continues to set new records. During his confirmation hearing, we were pleased to hear that Duffy supports the allocation of funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for the improvement of airport terminals and facilities across the country. ACI-NA and our member airports are eager to collaborate with Secretary Duffy and the Department of Transportation to secure the necessary funding to enhance airport infrastructure, expand air service options, and elevate the passenger experience. These measures will not only improve service for travelers but also drive economic growth in communities across the country. We look forward to working with Secretary Duffy and his team to ensure our nation’s airports remain a cornerstone of the global aviation industry.”
