Airports Council Releases Statement on Rodney Scott Nomination to serve as Customs and Border Protection Commissioner

WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North American (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today issued the below statement on Rodney Scott nomination to serve as U.S. Customs and Border Protection Commissioner:

“Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) congratulates Rodney Scott’s nomination to lead U.S. Customs and Border Protection. The airport industry looks forward to working with Rodney to ensure that airports remain safe, secure, and welcoming environments for travelers arriving to the United States.  ACI-NA and its members will continue advocating for sufficient CBP officers to process the growing volume of passengers and cargo, as well as pressing for the expansion of innovative technology to assist CBP officers in improving and streamlining screenings.  As the industry prepares for a potential uptick in air travel in 2025, we urge the Senate to quickly confirm a permanent leader at CBP.”
