Airports Council Releases Statement on Passage of H.R. 1

WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA), the trade association representing commercial service airports in the United States and Canada, issued the following statement today on the passage of H.R.1.

“ACI-NA applauds Congress for including airport industry priorities in H.R. 1 that will make critical investments to strengthen border security and aviation safety throughout America. Funding 5,000 additional CBP officers will improve the processing experience for passengers and cargo moving through our airports, seaports, and land ports. And a long-overdue overhaul of our air traffic control system will modernize aging infrastructure and technology, alleviate runway hot spots, and bolster the controller workforce. These new investments will provide significant benefits to the traveling public and businesses all over the country. The airport industry looks forward to working with the Trump Administration on implementing these critical improvements to the aviation system as quickly as possible.”
