Airports Council Congratulates Mayorkas on DHS Nomination

WASHINGTON – Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today congratulated Alejandro Mayorkas on his selection as President-elect Joe Biden’s nominee for Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“As we prepare for a rebound in post-pandemic air travel, it is now more important than ever to embrace innovative, risk-based approaches to aviation security – including enhanced technology to provide a contactless process – that will expedite screening while protecting the traveling public, CBP and TSA officers. Alejandro Mayorkas’ experience as DHS deputy secretary in the Obama-Biden administration makes him an excellent candidate for the task at hand; we look forward to working collaboratively with him and Congress on our shared commitment to facilitating a secure and efficient airport experience as we foster the recovery of air travel.”
