Airports Council Congratulates Mayorkas on DHS Confirmation

WASHINGTON, DC Airports Council International – North America (ACI-NA) President and CEO Kevin M. Burke today congratulated Alejandro Mayorkas on his confirmation as Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.

“On behalf of airports across the U.S., I want to congratulate Alejandro Mayorkas for his confirmation as the next secretary of Homeland Security. His past experience as DHS deputy secretary makes him a uniquely qualified pick to lead the agency at this critical juncture. In preparing for an expected rebound in air travel post-pandemic, we should continue to embrace innovative, risk-based approaches to airport security, including enhanced technology to provide a contactless processes that expedite screening while protecting passengers and people who work in the airport. We look forward to collaborating closely with Secretary Mayorkas and his entire team at DHS on our shared commitment to make air travel safe, secure and efficient during this unprecedented time for the aviation industry.”
