The Tucson Airport Authority (TAA) is seeking an experienced and strategic financial leader to serve as its next Deputy Chief of Finance. This is an exceptional opportunity to help shape the future of Tucson International Airport (TUS) and Ryan Airfield (RYN) while driving financial excellence, innovation, and accountability across the organization.
Reporting directly to the Vice President/CFO, the Deputy Chief of Finance plays a vital leadership role in the planning, management, and oversight of all finance and accounting functions, including operational and capital budgeting, forecasting, investment management, internal audits, debt service, and compliance. This position is central to maintaining TAA’s financial health and aligning its fiscal strategy with organizational priorities and long-term capital planning.
The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of financial principles, government accounting standards, and airport management practices. Strong leadership and mentoring skills are essential, as this role oversees a talented team responsible for financial reporting, rate-setting, internal controls, systems, and stakeholder communication. The Deputy Chief of Finance must be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to translate complex financial information into actionable insights.
Position Qualifications
This is a high-impact opportunity for a forward-thinking, mission-driven finance executive who thrives in a fast paced, values-based organization. A bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field is required; a CPA or MBA is preferred. The ideal candidates must have a minimum of eight years of progressive people management and financial experience, including three years’ experience at a commercial service airport. Knowledge and experience overseeing integrated ERP and accounting systems is highly preferred.
Salary & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $127,920 – $191,880. A starting salary above the midpoint is achievable for an exceptional candidate and will be dependent upon experience. Additional annual compensation as an incentive bonus based on organizational performance is determined annually, as budget resources allow. A comprehensive benefits package includes options for medical, dental, life insurance, etc. Relocation is available for the selected candidate.
