Role description

San Francisco International Airport (SFO) delivers world-class customer service in state-of-the-art facilities. SFO and its staff have been recognized as industry leaders in developing innovative programs and initiatives in the fields of revenue development, business, customer service, the environment, concessions and security. We are seeking to fill multiple positions in the Airport’s Contracts Administration, Operations and Compliance Section. To support with developing complex solicitations and the administration and management of complex contractual agreements under the provisions of San Francisco Administrative Code, Chapter 6 and Chapter 21. Along with the minimum qualifications, the desired candidate will have experience with professional service and/or construction service contracts; navigating eProcurement technology; public speaking and/or creating training presentations to groups of 10 or more and have worked with a large diverse workforce with different cultures, backgrounds and opinions. How to qualify

Education: Possession of a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience: Five (5) years full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level analytical work. Qualifying professional-level analytical work includes analysis, development, administration, and reporting in major programs and functions of an organization in areas such as budgets, contracts, grants, policy, or other functional areas related to the duties of positions in the 182X Class series.

Special Condition: 2 years of recent and verifiable professional experience in the following areas of contract administration: contractor solicitation and selection; contract development and production; review and processing of approvals; and contract maintenance.

Substitution:  Possession of a graduate degree (Master’s degree or higher) from an accredited college or university with major coursework in specialized subject matter areas such as public or business administration, management, business law, contract law, public policy, urban studies, economics, statistical analysis, finance, accounting or other fields of study closely related to the essential functions of positions in the Class series may be substituted for the required one (1) year of experience.

Additional experience as described above may be substituted for the required degree on a year-for-year basis (up to a maximum of 2 years). Thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units equal one year.

Desirable Qualifications: The stated desirable qualifications may be considered at the end of the selection process when candidates are referred for hiring.

  • Demonstrated experience with professional service and/or construction service contracts
  • Demonstrated experience in public speaking and/or making public presentations to groups of 10 or more
  • Demonstrated experience in working with a large diverse workforce of people with different culture, backgrounds and opinions
  • Passionate about procurement reform
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent technical/business writing skills
  • Comfortable with eProcurement technology
  • Verifiable experience and skill communicating with subject matter experts
  • The ability to lead and provide guidance to cross-functional teams engaged in the competitive solicitations and contract development processes
