Minimum Starting Salary: $77,193

Job Summary: The Manager, Air Service Development will execute the air service strategic objectives and key initiatives and managing the air service marketing incentive program. This position works under the direction and supervision of the VP, Airline & Government Relations requiring independent judgment, discretion, initiative and supervisory ability.

Essential Job Duties: 

  • Develops and maintains contacts and close working relationships with airlines, other airports, aviation organizations, local businesses, economic development organizations, and Chambers of Commerce with the goal of expanding air service at BNA.
  • Conducts comprehensive research and analysis regarding passenger demand, industry trends, state and regional developments, airline strategy and new market opportunities.
  • Manages overall air service incentive marketing program for the BNA including managing the incentive budget, airline reimbursement payment processes, and contract compliance to ensure consistency with BNA Air Service Incentive Plan and FAA guidelines.
  • Conducts research and analyzes data involving passenger and air cargo service prospects while staying abreast of industry trends and news that could impact air service.
  • Coordinates with and advises the Director of Airline Affairs regarding policies and plans impacting air service development, including passenger and air cargo service.
  • Works closely with independent air service consultants to identify air service deficiencies and opportunities and develop proposals to increase air service within the region.
  • Crafts and delivers precise, impactful, and professional air service presentations to retain and attract passenger and cargo services.
  • Coordinates air passenger and cargo customer surveys within BNA’s service area to determine what passenger and cargo needs are desired by the community.
  • Assists in the community stakeholder outreach and education of key target audiences to promote air service growth.
  • Responds to marketing, economic, and informational inquiries concerning passenger and air cargo service.
  • Attends local, state, national, and international select industry airline / airport conferences as the BNA air service representative.
  • Willing and able to travel as necessary both domestically and internationally.
  • Maintains regular and on-time attendance.
  • Follows all safety regulations.

Qualifications: 

Required: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in aviation related field of study, airport administration, business administration, marketing, or related field.
  • 2-4 years’ air service / route development at an airport, airline, or relevant consultant experience
  • Valid Class D Driver’s License
  • Valid US Passport

Preferred:

  • 2-4 years’ marketing or economic development for an airport, airline, or municipality
  • Certified Member (C.M.) designation in American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
  • Accredited Airport Executive (A.A.E.) designation in the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE)
