What can you expect from this position?

Reporting to the Senior Director, Maintenance, the Director, Maintenance Pearson Long-Term Investments in Facilities and Terminals (LIFT) will serve as the single point of contact representing the Maintenance Department in a major infrastructure redevelopment project, Pearson LIFT at Toronto Pearson Airport. You will serve as the primary Maintenance liaison between internal and external stakeholders. You will facilitate and ensure effective and efficient discussion and communication, coordination, and resolution of key issues and/or concerns related to LIFT, as well as corporate strategic initiatives (i.e., Vision plan, Asset Management Program, etc.) with possible future capital program impacts. As a member of the Single Point of Contact (SPOC) Cabinet, the Director will provide 360° views of the Maintenance department as it relates to activities impacting LIFT as well as the LIFT program itself with the intention of driving alignment between the Maintenance department and the LIFT Program​.

You will be the Subject Matter Expert of the Maintenance Department, ensuring that maintenance considerations are incorporated into all phases of the program/redevelopment project, from planning and design to construction and commissioning. You will identify risk through reviews of information and program design plans, specifications and schedules and provide feedback.  You will conduct technical reviews of program documentation to ensure alignment with maintenance requirements and oversee quality assurance processes to ensure maintenance standards are met throughout the project lifecycle.

You are a proven people leader who provides strong leadership within the Maintenance Department fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement. You wield influence for the Maintenance Department to understand and accept Program decisions made. You are an effective communicator who can relay updates to the Maintenance Department leadership team highlighting what, why and how.

This is the role for you, if you have:

  • University post-secondary education in Engineering, Aviation or Business
  • 10 years of leadership experience in airport, Operations and/or Maintenance environments
  • FMA, FMP or CFM or equivalent considered an asset
  • Driver’s License, AVOP, Facilities Management designations and training in accounting and contract law considered an asset
  • Ability to obtain and retain Transportation Security Clearance at the designated level for the position
