The Supervisor – Security & Badging will provide daily oversight of the Airport badging office and communication center, ensuring the Airport remains in compliance with TSA (49 CFR Part 1542) and FAA (FAR Part 139) regulations. This includes direct supervision of staff responsible for issuing identification badges and maintaining security application records, and monitoring CCTV system and dispatching response personnel. The Supervisor ensures that all Airport employees, contractors, and tenants are properly vetted and credentialed by overseeing the processing of fingerprint-based criminal history record checks (CHRC) and Security Threat Assessments (STA). They will also design and test response procedures to ensure the effective mobilization of protective, safety, and relief services for the Airport in security related emergencies or disasters.
Additional job duties include coordinating with TSA, airport security, and law enforcement on security-related matters; maintain security records and databases in compliance with federal and Airport retention requirements; conduct periodic audits and assessments of the badging system and access control points; and communicating emergency or security-related information throughout the Airport. Must also coordinate training, review performance, and manage timesheets of direct reports in compliance with federal and state employment laws and Airport policy and procedures.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Management, Business Administration or related field;
- Four (4) years related work experience at a Part 139 airport or employer/position governed by FFA or TSA regulations;
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience that includes supervising direct reports.
Due to Federal Security Guidelines and the sensitive nature of this position, selected applicants must be able to successfully pass an independently conducted background screening that requires: no past criminal activity, responsible credit history, and satisfactory credit score. Job retention is contingent upon this requirement being maintained.
This is a Full-time, Exempt position that normally works Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm, but must be on-call and available to report to work during nights, weekends, holidays and emergency events if needed. The salary pay grade range is $63,000 – $94,000 annually. Starting bi-weekly pay rate will be based on previous work experience and education.
