Position Summary
Supervise, assign, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the daily operation of airport parking facilities; establish schedules and methods for providing landside operations services; operate computerized revenue control equipment; ensure work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures and perform the more technical and complex tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility.

Supervision Received and Exercised
Receive direction from the higher level management.
Exercise direct supervision over lower level airport operations staff.
Essential and Supplemental Functions
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the functions listed below. Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review and participate in the work of staff responsible for the daily operation of airport parking facilities and commercial ground transportation services.
Establish schedules and methods for providing landside operations services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
Participate in the development of policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards and procedures.
Recommend and assist in the implementation of goals and objectives; implement approved policies and procedures.
Perform the more technical and complex tasks of the work unit including coordinating security and maintenance activities for landside areas.
Operate computerized revenue control equipment; receive and enter parking tickets into computer; audit tickets, receipts and funds; prepare reports as necessary.
Inspect landside areas and assign or coordinate preventive maintenance and repair tasks; ensure that areas are clean and safe.
Respond to public inquiries in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner.
Participate in the selection of landside operations staff; provide or coordinate staff training; work with employees to correct deficiencies; implement discipline procedures.
Participate in the preparation and administration of assigned budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures.
Prepare analytical and statistical reports on operations and activities.
SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:Attend and participate in professional group meetings; stay abreast of new trends and innovations in the field of airport operations and maintenance.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis.
Associate’s degree in business management or a two year technical certificate in office administration; and
Four (4) years of experience in any of the following areas of facility operations; maintenance, clerical or administrative support, and cash handling; and
To include one (1) year of supervisory or lead experience.
Parking facility operations experience preferred.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.
Must be able to successfully qualify for and maintain a Sunport Access Control Card as determined by the criteria set forth by the policies and guidelines of the Aviation Department and the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Successful completion of a security background check conducted by U.S. Customs & Border Protection, if applicable.

Operations, services and activities of a municipal airport and surrounding areas
Principles of supervision, training and performance evaluation
Techniques used in coordinating security and maintenance activities for airport landside area
Principles and practices of preventive maintenance and minor repair
Principles and procedures of financial record keeping and reporting
Principles of basic report preparation
Office procedures, methods and equipment including computers
Basic mathematical principles
Pertinent Federal, State and local laws, codes and regulations

Oversee the daily operation of airport parking facilities

Working Conditions
Environmental:
Airfield environment; exposure to noise, dust, grease, smoke, fumes, gases and inclement weather conditions.
Physical:
Essential and supplemental functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for heavy, moderate or light lifting; standing or walking for prolonged periods of time.
