The Steering Group will actively monitor regulatory developments that have the potential to impact non-aeronautical revenues for airports. Through vigilant oversight, the Steering Group stays abreast of changes in regulations that may affect the commercial aspects of airport management. This proactive approach ensures that airports are well-informed and can adapt their strategies to navigate any regulatory shifts impacting their non-aeronautical revenue streams.

The Committee will host quarterly airport-only information-sharing calls providing an opportunity for airports to host topics and share information on non-aeronautical impacts, challenges, and strategies airports are undertaking related to non-aeronautical revenue. When appropriate, ACI-NA staff will provide legislative and regulatory updates.

Time: Monthly Calls – looking to rotate Steering Group members to lead the monthly calls. 

The Steering Group is administrating the Airport Concessions Benchmarking Survey. The survey will be launched in March and finalized by June. The Steering Group will assess best ways to disseminate the outcome of survey, consider holding a webinar, a formal presentation at Business of Airports, or any other appropriate format.

Time: H1 2025

Organize and develop the agenda for the Business of Airports Conference with the input of Steering Group members. The Steering Group will hold a series of planning calls to identify educational sessions and speakers for the 2025 Business of Airports Conference.

Time: TBC – Two ad-hoc Steering Group calls to finalize the agenda.

The Steering Group will review the Concessions Awards call-for-entry form and submission process. ACI-NA will refine the awards criteria, judging process, strengthen the award brand awareness, and develop a comprehensive marketing plan for the awards. The independent judging panel will be selected by ACI-NA staff to evaluate submissions under the various award categories. The Concessions Awards winners will be announced in June at the Business of Airports Conference. The call for nominations will be released in February 2023.

Time: Agenda to be finalized by July 2025.

Airport members of the Steering Group will organize and develop the agenda for the Chief Revenue Officer Forum. The event will bring together senior airport professionals in an executive peer group setting to exchange ideas, best practices, challenges, and opportunities regarding all aspects of non-aeronautical revenue. Registration may be limited to two representatives per airport.

Time: Agenda to be finalized by October 2025 for a meeting in-person in January or February 2026.

The Steering Group will assess research needs in the field of airport commercial management, and as required will be proposed to the Transportation Research Board (TRB) Airport Cooperative Research Program (ACRP) Problem Statements addressing airport non-aeronautical topics. ACI-NA staff will continue to participate on relevant project panels and brief the Committee on upcoming ACRP projects to ensure participation in project panels.

Time: ACRP Problem Statement Deadline usually in April; ACRP Synthesis Topic Solicitation Deadline usually in September.

Leadership of the Committee participates on the ACI-NA Committee Coordination Council (C3) and participates in the quarterly calls or as scheduled. The Steering Group will seek opportunities for cross-committee collaboration on current and emerging industry challenges. The Committee will continue to coordinate and collaborate with the ACI-NA Business Diversity Committee and the ACI-NA Finance Committee as well as with the ACI World Airport Non-Aeronautical Revenues and Activities (ANARA) sub-committee. The Steering Group will actively involve and collaborate with young professionals in its endeavors.
