The Steering Group and ACI-NA staff will continue to track regulatory and legislative concerning topics focused on air service. The Committee will be available to evaluate policy issues and make recommendations to the U.S. and Canadian Policy Councils on positions related to air service
The Air Service Steering Group will continue to host Plane Talk webinars featuring airline network planners and other topics of interest pertaining to air service development for both the Air Service Committee and other ACI-NA Committee members. The webinars will provide an opportunity for ACI-NA members to hear the latest updates on scheduling, recovery, and trends. The Committee plans to host 3 webinars this year.
Continue organizing and developing the agenda for the JumpStart® Air Service Development Conference with the input of Steering Group members. A small subset of Steering Group and Committee members will hold a series of planning calls to identify airline speakers and other industry topics for the 2025 JumpStart®. In addition, Steering Group members will assist, where needed, inviting airlines. The Committee has a goal to maintain a similar volume of table counts (from 2024) for the 2025 conference. Additionally, the Committee is seeking to develop a best practice package for airports interested in hosting future JumpStart conferences, focused on the best way to entice airlines to attend.
Develop a robust seminar program, including airline speakers. Continue effort to increase the meeting frequency of the conference.
Continue quarterly forums (4) of professional development for those new to the Air Service Development industry.
Continue to grow awareness of the ‘Air Service Achievement Award’ (ASAA). Begun in 2024, the ASAA goes to an air service development professional who has undertaken unique actions or spearheaded initiatives with an extraordinary level of effort, leading to greater air service offerings for their community or to benefit the air service development profession, at large. These efforts serve as a model of extraordinarily creative thinking and workmanship for fellow air service development professionals. The second ASAA Award will be bestowed at the 2025 JumpStart Air Service Development Conference in Indianapolis, IN.
Continue developing framework for an air service development pipeline program at North American universities/colleges, with potential first deployment in fall 2025.
Offer a mechanism for larger committee to communicate with other airports and provide feedback to the Steering Group, such as a forum board via Centerlines Connect.
Develop a framework for a potential air service development mentorship program in the second half of 2025.
Develop generic industry slides that airports can use for community engagement
The Committee leadership and ACI-NA staff will work in close cooperation with the ACI-NA Board Liaison, Nicole Noll-Williams (LAN) to ensure that the ACI-NA Board is aware of the on-going the work of the Air Service Committee.
