The Manager – Safety Management Systems will develop, implement, and maintain the Airport’s Safety Management Systems (SMS) program in compliance with all required regulations, including 14 CFR Part 139 (Subpart E). They will also identify ways to continuously improve the SMS, while creating a culture and collaboration of best safety practices across all Airport operations and stakeholders.

Additional job duties include preparing SMS reports and other information for the Accountable/Responsible Executive, analyze data using SMS software programs to determine trends and provide solutions to integrate safety practices, oversee SMS awareness training program for all SIDA badge holders, and conduct SMS committee meetings. They will also receive and respond to safety/emergency reports on a 24-hour basis.

This is a Full-time, Exempt position that normally works Monday – Friday, 8am to 5pm, but must be on-call and available to report to work during nights, weekends, holidays and emergency events if needed.

Four-year degree in Aviation Management, Business or related field; 4 years related work experience and/or training at a Part 139 airport; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record. AAAE ACE certification is desirable.
