The Kenton County Airport Board (“KCAB”) is soliciting bids relating to a Confined Space Air Monitor Exchange Program at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (“CVG”). The Environmental Operations department would like to upgrade the portable air gas monitors used to test the atmosphere inside confined spaces to ensure entry is safe for work. Atmospheric hazards are commonplace inside confined spaces due to the lack of ventilation and potential contaminants. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) requires that the atmosphere be tested prior to entry into the space. OSHA also recommends entrants personally wear monitors while in the space to warn of atmospheric hazards.
