To serve customers even better, Xovis is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to cover technical leadership and project responsibilities for our Airports and Public Space products. In addition to owning your own projects, you will be responsible for leadership of all US project work and service delivery. By establishing and leading the team on its missions, you’ll act as a role model and set priorities to ensure that deliverables are handed over with the highest quality, on time, and within budget so satisfied users continue investing in Xovis products. Your team will work on remote system configuration and client- facing, on-site project work with our airport customers as well as public space/retail system integrators. You will work closely with other project engineers based in Boston and in Switzerland, and directly supervise the Boston-based team of engineers. This role is a great opportunity for someone passionate about technology, commercial aviation, transportation, and entrepreneurship to use and expand their strong and diverse technical skill set in a quickly growing industry.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead  the  Project  Engineering  team  with  technical  challenges,  organization/coordination  of resources, and knowledge retainment and transfer
  • Provide support in complex configurations and help define project processes and structure
  • Design, plan,  and document  sensor networks and positions  (both proprietary  software  and hardware that are on-prem or cloud-based solutions) for his/her own projects and customers
  • Configure systems remotely from our Boston office, including installing server/client software
  • Oversee sensor installation and associated project work at client airports
  • Train and commission system with client airports
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and do whatever it takes to move an installation forward
  • Address and resolve any concerns throughout the project to ensure the best possible user experience with the system
  • Support existing clients with fully installed Xovis systems

 

Qualification Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a technical project management/IT network management role or similar technical position
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field from an accredited university preferred, but significant and relevant industry experience may be an acceptable substitute
  • Profound knowledge of physical and virtual server environments and IT network configuration (including remote access technologies), databases, and programming /scripting/database languages such as Java, Ruby, Python, and SQL
  • Knowledge of Web APIs in JSON and/or XML formats
  • Relevant IT networking certifications a plus
  • Outgoing personality and outstanding written and verbal communication skills a must
  • Can-do attitude – always looking for solutions rather than just describing problems
  • Experience working with or in the commercial aviation industry a plus
  • Ability to travel 20-40% of the time, domestically and internationally once safe to do so
  • Strong preference for Boston-area or Southern New England-based candidates
