Project Associate, Airports
What we offer 

We are seeking a positive and motivated individual who is eager to become a key contributor to provide project and development services within the Airports Team. This individual must command strong verbal and written communication skills, and exceptional organizational capacity to thrive in a fast-paced team environment. The Project Associate will report to the Senior Vice President, Airports Development and be responsible for supporting the Airports Development initiatives with emphasis on its JFK development projects.

In this role, your main missions are:

  • Strong attention to detail across multiple aspects from budgets and schedules to calendars and correspondence and more.
  • Anticipate problems before they arise, and take care of all the details that clear the path for the Development and JFK Asset & Project Delivery Teams to do their best work  .
  • Always looking for ways to implement process improvements to make each day better than the last .

  • Represent the very best of the Airport Division both internally and externally

You. . . 

  • Key Contributor to project and development success of the Development and JFK Asset & Project Delivery Teams, including but not limited to the following:
  • Ensure smooth flow of information between stakeholders, both internal and external. This includes extreme attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Oversee incoming and outgoing correspondence, collateral and project submittals.
  • Coordinate and attend meetings and major events, including receiving meeting outputs, and prepare meeting minutes and action item reports for review and approve prior to distributing.
  • Prepare critical PowerPoint presentations to prepare for major stakeholder and update meetings.
  • Full command and ownership of project digital and paper files including logging receipt of plans, budgets, schedules, and related project items. Stewardship of records, documents, logs, and files.
  • Handle multiple tasks, switching priorities and focus as needed, build relationships with people and teams across the company and external stakeholders (i.e. clients, contractors, etc.) to foster process improvement and resolve issues.
  • Perform and prioritize special projects as directed; handle confidential and sensitive information.
  • Oversee the travel budget and all aspects of travel, including forecasting.
  • Oversee and coordinate the expense report approval process, including expense reports.
  • ‘No task is too small’ approach, including ad hoc duties and responsibilities.

What we are looking for 

  • 3-5+ years experience as an organized and forward thinking team member and/or professional analytical experience – supporting a small team of professionals.
  • High Proficiency with computer, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and Email/Communications protocol, ready to adopt additional tech tools as needed.
  • Proactive, positive, can-do and team-oriented attitude.
  • Intermediate project management skills, knowledge and experience.
  • Strong professional communication skills to interact with all internal and external professionals.
  • Strong written and grammatical skills and proof-reading ability.
  • Customer-oriented across all communication points.
  • Attentiveness to detail:  ability to follow through, think ahead and through responsibilities, double check work before proceeding.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to work independently, assess priorities, and manage a variety of activities, paying attention to detail under tight deadlines and heavy workload.
  • Extreme focus on Time Management, both personally and for the team
