The Rhode Island Airport Corporation (RIAC) is seeking a Vice President and Chief Information Officer. The Chief Information Officer (CIO) is responsible for a 24/7 management and security systems operation as well as the development, implementation and management of strategies, policies and procedures associated with the information technology and cyber security systems of RIAC. The CIO provides the vision and direction to a staff responsible for implementation and maintenance of RIAC’s information technology program. This position works with members of RIAC’s leadership team to create IT strategic plans for the Airport and identifies and implements department goals along with objectives and new systems and technologies. The CIO identifies, develops and implements new technologies and benchmarks system performance. This position works closely with project managers to identify and optimize the allocation of technology resources, including preparing and managing the department’s annual budget, justifying annual funding needs. The CIO prepares requests for qualifications as well as proposals and purchase orders for new services and equipment. An important function of this position is to develop and maintain a disaster recovery plan for all information systems and the network. The CIO is responsible for supervising and mentoring the department’s staff as well as interacting with a variety of contractors and vendors. This position approves the work of contractors, ensuring their completed work complies with work orders and contracts, as well as RIAC policies and procedures.
RIAC owns and operations 5 airports: Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport (PVD); Block Island State Airport; North Central State Airport; Quonset State Airport; Newport State Airport; and Westerly State Airport.
The Ideal Candidate:
The successful candidate for this position will have a 4-year degree in computer science or a related field, and at least 5 years’ experience in a leadership role in a similarly sized IT department or organization. The candidate must be an effective communicator, orally and in writing, and have outstanding interpersonal skills. The candidate must have strong problem-solving skills, along with the ability to plan and implement projects on time and within established budgets. The Ideal Candidate will have experience and certifications in Microsoft Server Operating Systems (O365 and MCSE 2012 or newer); VMware Virtualization (VCP5-DCV and VCP5-DT or greater); Fortinent Firewalls, Load Balancers, and internet filters with an NSE-5 or greater; HP Lefthand storage systems and HP ATP Storage Solutions or greater; HP Procurve Networks with HP ASE-Networking or greater; Nutanex hyperconverged infrastructure; Crowd Strike end point protection; fiber optic networking, campus infrastructure management; and date center management, data routing and system recovery. The CIO must be able to obtain a Rhode Island driver’s license and pass a security and background check.
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $150,000 – $180,000 and is accompanied by a generous compensation and benefits package. Relocation assistance is available.
