The Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport Authority is seeking an Information Technology Director for the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport (AZA).  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the Information Technology Director is a “hands-on” leader, working alongside staff performing technical work developing, implementing, and maintaining application systems, networks, and centralized telephone systems. The IT Director works with Airport stakeholders, both internal and external, to determine Airport technology requirements, evaluate current systems, and recommend upgrades and changes in technology, establishing technical standards for hardware and software to ensure quality, functionality, connectivity, and compatibility. The Director is the originator and owner of the Airport’s technical vision, analyzing and improving standards, managing and participating, as needed, in new system implementation and enhancements to existing systems, and setting policies to ensure the privacy and security of Airport data and facilities. He or she manages the Munis ERP and Amadeus systems. The IT Director coordinates daily work activities, organizing and prioritizing staff assignments. He or she troubleshoots issues and provides technical expertise in resolving complex IT problems. The Director develops and monitors the departmental budget, as well as all procurement contracting activities related to technology. Importantly, the IT Director provides leadership, coaching, and performance management for department staff.

Position Qualifications

The Information Technology Director will have any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a 4-year degree in Computer Science or Business Administration or a related field, and five years progressively responsible IT experience and three years’ experience in the management or supervision of an IT department. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of aviation business management practices, along with experience working with Munis and Amadeus. The successful candidate must possess or be able to obtain a valid Arizona driver’s license as well as have the ability to pass a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) security background check.

Salary & Benefits
