Chief People Officer – NTO

The New Terminal One

The New Terminal One at John F. Kennedy International Airport is seeking applications for a Chief People Officer (CPO). The CPO is responsible for all talent management activities including recruitment, employee training and development, and implementation of human resources policies. Reporting to the CEO, the CPO will champion company values and a positive workplace culture. The initial priority for the CPO will be recruiting, growing the organization from a small core team of three employees and several consultants today to a fully staffed operation by the end of 2025.

Talent management will also be essential. The CPO will be a proactive hands-on leader facilitating the development of the company’s culture, structure, and human capital business philosophy. He or she will design and implement programs and processes that are strategically aligned to the organizational values and objectives. This role is focused on recruiting, retaining and growing talent and will engage collaboratively and harmoniously with internal and external agencies/ organizations to ensure a positive image for the organization.

NTO has partnered with a professional employer organization (PEO) for human resources administration and support, including ensuring that NTO complies with local, state, and federal laws, policies and procedures pertaining to employment. The CPO will be responsible for managing the PEO and implementing NTO’s human resources policies and procedures.

Preferred Experience:

The Chief People Officer will have a four-year degree and considerable experience in recruiting and growing talent, with several years holding a strategic management position, preferably in a complex, creative, and operationally challenging environment. Experience standing up or transforming a human resources department or structure is a plus. Proven ability in identifying, securing, and retaining top talent is critical in this role. Ability to successfully manage change in diverse organizations and ability to develop and build out new talent management practices is key to success.
