Director – Operations – LIT

The Little Rock Municipal Airport Commission is seeking a Director – Operations for Bill and Hillary Clinton National Airport (LIT). The Director plays an invaluable role in assuring the safe, secure and efficient operation of the Airport. This position is responsible for the daily activities of LIT in compliance with all state, local and federal laws, rules and regulations including FAR 139, 77, and 150 as well as all FAA Advisory Circulars related to operating an air carrier Airport. The Director also assures that airport users and tenants comply with all pertinent policies, laws, rules and regulations to achieve and maintain discrepancy-free annual inspections. The Director manages Airport security operations by maintaining the Airport’s fingerprint and security access control systems and reviewing criminal history records. He or she maintains compliance with TSA Part 1542, reviews and implements security directives, updating the Airport Security Program as required and developing and implementing security training classes. The Director also monitors tenant compliance with the Airport’s Security Program.

The Ideal Candidate:

The Director-Operations will have a 4-year degree in business administration, airport management, engineering or a related field, from an accredited college or university, or successful completion of a certification course in Airport Operations and/or Administration. He or she will also have at least 6 years’ experience in a related area. The successful candidate must be able to hit the ground running.

The Director will be able to read, interpret and apply safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedures to everyday situations. He or she must have the ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups. The candidate must have a firm grasp of mathematical processes and be able to compute rates, ratios and percentages. He or she must have the ability to solve problems with limited written information or guidance. The Director must have knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars and Federal regulations as well current issues impacting the operation of an airport, including environmental, safety, security, and human resources issues. The Director must have outstanding interpersonal skills and be able to deal with highly sensitive and controversial issues. He or she must be able to obtain and maintain a valid State issued driver’s license.

Salary and Benefits
