Normal Hiring Range – $54,000/yr – $72,000/yr


Position Summary (Primary Function)

Provides expert technical support and preventative maintenance for all technical infrastructure and applications including Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, VMWare, virtual and physical server administration, VOIP phone system support, enterprise network management, and all other airport managed systems. Deploys, monitors, maintains all IT systems, ensuring system uptime and availability, plans and executes hardware and software maintenance for airport provided systems utilized by airport district employees, airline agents, and airport tenants.

Responsibilities (Essential Functions)

General responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited, to the following:

  • Create and manage user accounts and security permissions in Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Automate deployment and installation of software updates to Windows operating systems, Java, and Adobe applications.
  • Maintain and document inventory of hardware, equipment, and spare inventory.
  • Troubleshoot issues with analog and VOIP phone systems.
  • Troubleshoot wireless and enterprise network connectivity issues.
  • Support user functions in a predominantly Microsoft Windows 10 and Office 365 environment.
    Answer and provide guidance on support related phone calls placed by District employees, airline staff, and airport tenants.
  • Collaborate closely with department team members on multiple projects.
    Maintain current knowledge of advancing technologies with emphasis on use cases within the airport environment.
  • Participate in an afterhours on call rotation and work non-traditional shifts deemed necessary by business needs.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted or changed at any time at the discretion of supervisors, formally or informally, either verbally or in writing.
  • Performs other duties as required.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Management Systems, or related and relevant education and experience in lieu of degree.


  • VMware VCP, VCAP, preferred
  • Microsoft 365 Certified, Teams Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Database Administrator Associate, preferred
  • Cisco CCNA, CCNP, preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Seven years of progressive experience in system and network administration. Technical certifications may substitute for education or experience at the discretion of management.
  • Proven experience in administration and maintenance in a Microsoft Windows environment including, but not limited to:
    • Microsoft Active Directory in a Windows Server 2012 (or higher) environment
    • Microsoft Office 365 Administration
    • Microsoft SQL Server Management
    • Printer and File Sharing Permissions
    • DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, FTP, NTP and other related services and protocols
    • Experience in administration and maintenance of VMware VCenter, VSphere, and ESXi.
    • Familiar with management of data storage solutions including NASs (Network Attached Storage), SANs (Storage Area Networks), and VSANs.
    • Ability to independently analyze and solve routine computer related problems. Ability to read a variety of informational documentation, directions, instructions, methods and procedures, such as technical manuals, software manuals, wiring diagrams, blueprints, product documentation and related materials.

  • This position requires skills in analytics, reporting, task prioritization, organization, verbal communication, and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Must work well in a team environment and with limited instruction or supervision.
  • Ability to write reports, speak before others with poise, voice control and confidence.
  • Must be willing and able to learn and understand complex principles and techniques; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; and to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality, to perform work with a positive attitude and in a professional manner at all times.

Licenses Required

  • Valid Driver’s License

Latitude/Independent Judgment/Accuracy

  • Autonomously prioritize projects and tasks.
  • Ability to coordinate with department team members to complete group projects.
  • Urgently respond to, resolve, and record system level outages in absence of supervisor’s guidance.
    Provide constructive comments and recommendations on department processes, and procedures to management team.

Working Conditions

  • Physical Demands – At times, exposed to heat, cold, rain, and snow in a noisy environment. Must possess the ability to perform strenuous physical activities such as lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Attentiveness to work procedure will reduce potential risk of injury in work areas.
  • Will be subject to recall after normal duty hours.
  • Work schedules may include rotating shifts, night shifts, hours of work and days off may be changed at any time at the discretion of the supervisor. The Airport operates on a 24 x 7 x 365 basis.

Other Requirements

Must be able to complete and pass a background investigation, drug screening, and physical examination as per Federal, State, and GSP Airport District requirements.
