Paine Field Airport (PAE), a Snohomish County, is seeking a highly motivated Airport Director to lead a team of dynamic professionals, build on the success of their predecessors, and take Paine Field to the next level. The airport is a modern, well-equipped, and financially sound operation which serves the surrounding community.

The Ideal Candidate

You will be a detail-oriented, professional, flexible, reliable, and have proven leadership skills. You will be responsible for coordinating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operations of the airport around the clock.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills and ability to work well with staff and stakeholders with a variety of backgrounds, have graduated from an accredited college or university with a 4-year degree in business or public administration, marketing, aviation management or a related field. You must have six years’ progressively responsible experience in aviation or airport administration, to include 3 years leadership experience. Certification by the American Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) as an Accredited Airport Executive (AAE), or Certified Member (CM) is highly desirable. The Director must be able to work outside of regular business hours and on weekends and will travel periodically to represent the Airport at meetings and conferences both domestic and international.

The supply chain, with 600 suppliers statewide, supports Boeing as well as Airbus, Bombardier, Comac, Embraer, Mitsubishi, and Sukoi.

Snohomish County Airport-Paine Field (PAE) is a publicly-owned airport located six miles southwest of the central business district of Everett, Washington. Equipped with high-quality aviation facilities that rival larger-scale airports, Paine Field is located just 30 miles north of downtown Seattle, providing easy access to it as well as nearby Bellevue and Redmond. The airport is most notably home to The Boeing Company’s primary production facility for 767-, 777-, 787-series aircraft.

In addition to serving as the home of Boeing’s manufacturing plant and testing facility, it’s also home to over 450 general aviation aircraft, including small, single-engine recreational aircraft, corporate jets and vintage warbirds.

The airport has two parallel runways: Runway 16L/34R serves general aviation aircraft, while the 9,010-foot-long Runway 16R/34L accommodates large jet airliners. Paine Field hosts a multitude of aircraft and avionics modification and repair operations.

In 2019, Paine Field began offering scheduled commercial service.  Through a truly unique public/private partnership, Propeller Airports LLC built and operates an award-winning passenger facility.  The facility has current approval for up to 24 flights per day and in 2019 saw approximately 1 million passengers through it’s three gates.

Paine Field’s Aerospace Training Complex serves more than 200 aerospace employers. The effort, which brings together Everett and Edmonds Community Colleges, the Aerospace Joint Apprenticeship Committee, and the Washington Aerospace Training & Research Center, provides comprehensive training and education, helping to establish a pipeline of highly-skilled candidates for the industry’s varied opportunities, from advanced manufacturing to aviation maintenance and beyond.

Several hundred thousand people visit our world-class aviation attractions annually: the Boeing Future of Flight Aviation Center & Tour, Wartime History Museum, and Museum of Flight Restoration Center.
