San Jose Mineta International Airport is seeking to fill a Carpenter/Locksmith position. The Carpenter/Locksmith will be responsible for the installation, repair and upgrade of millwork and ticket counters and podiums (located in terminal buildings), rough and finish carpentry work in the alteration, maintenance, restoration and repair of buildings, walls, floors, roofs, stairways, partitions, doors, windows, furniture and other skilled carpentry projects. This position will repair, upgrade, and install door hardware to include, panic devices, closers, locksets and all other door hardware. This position will change lock cores, repin cores and cut multiple types of keys including large and small format IC type cores as well as millwork locking mechanisms. Maintenance Worker I and II, on occasion, may assist this position. This position may be assigned to work any days of the week or be assigned to any of the three shifts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Training and Experience:  Completion of a recognized carpentry apprenticeship program.  Qualifications will be examined on a case-by-case basis.  Examples of equivalent experience include four years of carpentry experience (8320 hours) working for a trades carpenter.
• Licenses:  Possession of a valid State of California Driver’s License.
