Are you a seasoned leader with excellent written and verbal communication skills, highly analytical, a negotiator who is comfortable working in a fast-moving, dynamic environment? Do you have a bachelor’s degree; eight (8) years of experience managing procurement and contract services in a governmental or large organization, which includes three (3) years of supervising professionals? If so, the San Francisco International Airport (SFO) is hiring a Procurement & Contracts Section Manager to join our Design and Construction Team. Responsibilities include: developing the procurement and contracting processes that support each project within the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP); developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to ensure the efficient operation of the procurement process and contracts compliance; and managing a team of contract staff to execute procurements, contract modifications, and contract compliance activities. Education: Possession of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Experience: Eight (8) years of experience managing procurement and contract services in a governmental or large organization which includes three (3) years of supervising professionals.
Education Substitution: Additional qualifying experience as described above may be substituted for the education requirement on a year for year basis for up to two (2) years. (One year of work experience is equal to 30 semester or 45 quarter units).
Experience Substitution: Possession of a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience (but may not substitute for the required supervisory experience).
- Knowledge of Federal and State construction and professional services contracting regulations.
- Familiarity with San Francisco Administrative Code, Chapters 6 and 21.
- Experience in writing, procuring and administering construction and professional services contracts.
- Experience in providing supervision and leadership to subordinate employees.
- Experience in identifying and implementing efficiency and streamlining measures.
