The Accounting Department is looking for a highly organized individual with demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills in a Manager, Accounting role. Enjoy a flexible telecommuting schedule (3 days remote, 2 days on-site) as you lead and manage various functions of the Accounting Department and:


1.     Work with staff to continually foster a high performance, customer service-oriented work environment that supports achieving the Authority’s service expectations.  Participate in programs and activities that promote workplace diversity and a positive employee environment.

2.     Oversee and manage the general accounting functions, including but not limited to accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, and fixed assets.  Monitor assigned areas to ensure business transactions follow GAAP, and other regulatory requirements and Authority policies. Manage month-end close and reporting functions and year-end audit activities.

3.     Monitor and evaluate the work performance of assigned staff and provide coaching for perform­ance improvement and development; manage and evaluate department work plans, processes, and procedures to achieve Authority and department goals.

4.     Develop and recommend revisions and improvements to department procedures and guidelines and applicable Authority accounting policies and procedures.  Keep abreast of new developments in standards of recording and reporting.

4.      Critical Evaluation – Ability to analyze and define a problem, evaluate alternative solutions, and identify an optimal solution; listens and clarifies information as needed.

5.      Customer & Personal Service – Demonstrate excellent customer service.  Provide assistance and support to departmental staff and outside stakeholders with a focus on customer service.

6.      Staff Development – Collaborate with staff in goal setting; approach performance evaluation and management with a coaching mentality; provide ongoing training and maintain strong employee relationships.

7.      Communication – Effectively exchange information with stakeholders through various avenues, including but not limited to verbal, written, facilitation, and persuasion.


Experience & Education:


·       Graduation from a college or university with a major in Accounting or Finance; CPA or MBA preferred.

·       Five or more years of progressive accounting experience, at least two of which were in a management role.

·       Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.


Depending on experience and qualifications, the hiring range is $78,000 – $105,000.
