Position: Airport Security Coordinator           Status: Non-exempt

Reports to: Airport Manager                                Location: San Bernardino International Airport

Definition

Under general direction, ensures compliance of operations and procedures with the San Bernardino International Airport Security Program (ASP) mandates and security directives at the San Bernardino International Airport. Participates in all airside and landside security operations, including ensuring regulatory compliance and responding to emergencies and/or security related incidents. Responsible for administering airport security plan, safety, and emergency programs; coordinates, provides responsible technical assistance to the Airport Manager.

Schedule

Regular schedule Monday – Friday. Incumbent may, at times, be required to perform on call duties, work weekend and holidays, respond to emergencies, and potential rotating shifts to ensure operational coverage.

Supervision Received and Exercised

Receives general direction from the Airport Manager.

Education and Experience

Any combination of training and experience that would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

• Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Airport/Aviation Administration, Public or Business Administration or a related field and three (3) years of increasingly responsible experience in airport operations or airport security related position. A current ASC Certifications is preferred.

Licenses and Certifications

• Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid California Driver’s License by time of appointment.
• Obtain and maintain an Airport Security Coordinator Certificate.
• Maintain federally mandated security clearances required to work at an airport

Salary Description

$36.97/hour ($76,897 Annual) DOE
