At the RTAA, the Senior Manager of Properties is a key member of the AED team, managing and overseeing the development, planning, and coordination of a comprehensive property management and tenant relations program that includes airline tenants, concessions, general aviation, and government entities, to enhance and diversify non-airline revenue and passenger experience.  The Senior Manager of Properties reports to, and provides highly responsible and complex staff assistance to, the Vice-President of AED, and is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and directing the work of professional staff to meet established goals and objectives.

The nature of the position requires the ability to lead, motivate, develop, and manage a team of professional personnel; the ability to develop tactical plans and achieve strategic goals; the ability to analyze problems, project consequences, identify alternatives, and implement timely and effective solutions in support of the AED department’s strategic goals, objectives and initiatives; excellent business communication skills; and the ability to establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships.

The Senior Manager of Properties position provides the opportunity for growth and development, with the individual being eligible for participation in the RTAA succession planning program for the Vice-President of AED position.

The region is experiencing an evolution that includes not only significant job growth, but also a revitalization of Reno’s midtown district. The RTAA is the owner and operator of the Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) and Reno-Stead Airports. Annually RNO serves 4.2 million passengers, a number that has continued to grow.  In order to meet the anticipated passenger growth, RNO finalized a 20-year Master Plan in January 2019.  The RTAA functions like a small city with over 270 employees working in a variety of functions, including Police, Fire, Human Resources, Accounting, Planning, Engineering, and Marketing.


Entry Salary: $87,800 – $110,628 annually, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $133,456 annually.  Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications.  This is a management at-will position, which is salaried and is exempt from overtime.

Minimum Qualifications:
Required Education:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in economic or community development, business administration, public administration, political science, economics, finance, marketing, or related field.

Required Experience: Five (5) years of full-time, progressively responsible, professional experience in airport property management which must include comprehensive experience in the management of airport concessions and airline agreements and two (2) years of supervisory experience in the public sector.

Required Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application.
