There is one (1) position open.  At the RTAA, the Property Specialist II is a key member of the AED team.  The Property Specialist II reports to, and provides highly-responsible, professional-level staff assistance to, the Manager of Properties.  The Property Specialist II is responsible for optimizing rental car development and re-development, airport revenue, overseeing and facilitating tenant operations, which includes airlines, ground transportation service providers, and government tenants, and processing agreements from inception through termination at Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO).

The nature of the position requires the ability to organize and direct complex projects and programs; sound judgment and discretion in determining optimal strategies for meeting departmental goals and objectives; the ability to develop tactical plans and achieve strategic goals; the ability to identify and implement innovative and efficient solutions; excellent business communication skills; and the ability to establish, maintain and foster effective working relationships.

Background:  While Reno has long been known as the gateway to the Lake Tahoe region, it is moving well beyond a tourism destination. Tech giants such as Tesla, Switch, Panasonic, Apple, Google and Amazon have propelled the northern Nevada region in new and exciting directions. The region is experiencing an evolution that includes not only significant job growth, but also a revitalization of Reno’s midtown district. The RTAA is the owner and operator of the Reno-Tahoe International (RNO) and Reno-Stead Airports (RTS). Annually RNO serves 4.2 million passengers, a number that has continued to grow.  In order to meet the anticipated passenger growth, RNO finalized a 20-year Master Plan in January 2019.  The RTAA functions like a small city with over 270 employees working in a variety of functions, including Police, Fire, Human Resources, Accounting, Planning, Engineering, and Marketing.

Entry Salary: $64,525 – $81,302 annually, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $98,078 annually.  Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications.  This is a salaried position and is exempt from overtime.

Minimum Qualifications: 
Required Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration, Public Administration, Hospitality Management, Finance, Economics, Aviation Management, or a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in a closely related field.  An equivalent combination of directly related education and experience may be substituted on a year for year basis for the Bachelor’s Degree (e.g., one year of full-time experience will be considered equivalent to thirty (30) semester or (45) quarter units of college course work).

Required Experience: Two (2) years of full-time, professional experience managing a comprehensive business function for a commercial airport.  OR Four (4) years of full-time, professional experience in the operation, administration, economic analysis, and/or marketing of a large, complex, diverse, commercial property management program, which must include at least two (2) years of direct tenant  solicitation, outreach and relations.  OR An equivalent combination of the above referenced experience may be considered.

Preferred Experience: Experience managing airport rental car and/or airline tenants is preferred.

Required Licensing: A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application.
