The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking qualified candidates with journey-level electrician with experience in the maintenance and repair of commercial electrical systems to join the Building Maintenance and Services team as a Facilities Electrician Technician IV. There is one (1) position open; however, the list established may also be used to fill future vacancies as they occur. Both internal and external applicants will be considered. Applicants must be available to work all shifts (day, swing, and graveyard) 7 days a week – including holidays. To be considered for this position, applicants must indicate they are available for day, swing and night shifts (all three), and must check the appropriate boxes under availability on the RTAA online application. Shift assignments are generally determined by seniority using a Shift Bid System.
At the RTAA, the Building Maintenance and Services Division is a key member of the Facilities and Maintenance Department. The Facilities Electrician Technician IV reports to a Facilities Supervisor and are responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of high voltage electrical equipment, electronic apparatus and auxiliary equipment for RTAA building and facilities. The RTAA Facilities Electrician Technician IVs are also part of our larger RTAA customer service team. This team is dedicated to helping provide the public with a pleasant and safe experience while traveling through the Reno-Tahoe International Airport. All of RTAA’s Facilities Electrician Technician IVs are expected to approach their work with a positive, helpful, customer service mindset.
The nature of the work requires a strong understanding of commercial electrical systems, equipment, and fixtures, standard practices of the electrical trade, and the ability to perform a full range of skilled electrical maintenance and repair duties under minimal supervision.
Salary: $21.34 – $32.65 per hour. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. In addition, employees working non-day shifts receive an additional $1.50 per hour of shift differential pay. This is an hourly and overtime eligible position.

Required Education: Graduation from high school or equivalent certificate. An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered.
Required Experience: Three (3) years of experience as a skilled journey-level electrician in an industrial/commercial environment is required.
Required Licensing: A valid journey-level electrician’s license is required at the time of application. A valid driver’s license is required at the time of application.
