SUMMARY: An employee of this class leads, develops, promotes, and executes Ontario International Airport’s (ONT) emergency preparedness and response goals for all ONT owned facilities based on identified risk, vulnerabilities, and capability gaps. Incumbents in this classification report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The Emergency Manager establishes direction for planning, training, exercise, response, and recovery initiatives and serves as the coordinating authority for emergencies. Responsible to lead and guide ONT’s response to and recovery from, airport critical incidents, emergencies, and disasters (natural, acts of terrorism, and other incidents and accidents that impact business).
REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s Degree in Emergency Management, Public Safety, Business Administration, or a closely related field, is required. Five years of progressively responsible experience in emergency management with experience in analysis of program and project disaster response/recovery plans and systems is required. Emergency management or operations with emergency management responsibilities at an airport is preferred. Must have completed training in the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the Incident Command System (ICS), including IS-100, IS-200, IS-700, IS-800; as well as the FEMA Professional Development Series (IS-120.c., IS-230.d, IS-235.c, IS-240.b, IS-241.b, IS-242.b, and IS-244.b).
SALARY: $92,700 – $123,600 Annually
